I'm beginning to agree, with all the combinations of blades/force/depth I've tried it has to be something else. Is there anyway to check the bearing myself or do I have to make a service call?

So I checked, resaved and reimported the file Friday to no avail. When I got to work today I rechecked, resaved (with different name) and re-reimported, and it worked. Why it worked is a mystery. Why it wouldn't work to begin with remains one as well. Thanks for the suggestions!

I did the repeat in Versaworks - my supervisor said it may have made more than one pass but I've checked that as well and watched the cutting take place - one single pass on each decal, just the first one gets cut completely out.

I recently replaced the blade on my VS540-i, then sent a set of 2x3 oval decals to print/cut. For some reason, the first decal gets cut completely out of the vinyl - the rest are fine - I made sure to decrease my pressure after replacing the blade but I'm not sure if I installed the blade...

So we got the VS 540i last year and it's great, but there was no take up reel option, so we fitted it with the one that we were using with the SP 540v. It works for the most part but is not ideal - has anyone heard of a reel for the vs 540i?

Foil? Yea that's weird. My gut thought was the cartridge wasn't fully inserted or came loose some how, but you said earlier they were all fully seated. I don't recall ever seeing a foil cap - maybe they sent you a cartridge for a different machine?

Yea that's one thing I like about this machine - the person I heard that from made it sound like if you only use your metallic or white seldomly - once or twice a month - even the periodic cleaning/circulation may not be enough. If you use them once a week or more I'd bet you're fine.
