  1. Oce vs. Flora

Anyone have any experience with Flora printers? We're looking to replace our Roland flatbed and our dealer only carries Flora and Oce. We got some samples from Oce Monday and they're ok but the ink doesn't seem very durable. It's pretty soft and has a rough texture to it. We print a lot of solid...
  2. question

I wouldn't recommend doing it on your Roland flatbed. Unless of course you want banding through it. :ROFLMAO:
  3. Best panel saw blades?

Sure, but if you or anyone else is going to recommend something that is nearly twice as expensive as some of the top brands, then I feel it's necessary to tell people it's overpriced. And upon further inspection, the blades they're selling are made by some unknown Made In China off brand...
  4. Best panel saw blades?

We're in manufacturing, not printing. Dull blades not only produce an unacceptable product, but they're extremely unsafe to work with. Even our Festool blades, who are universally known for having quality but overpriced products, are only $150. Paying $200 for some generic no-brand saw blade is...
  5. Best panel saw blades?

$200 for those blades? That is a blatant rip off. There is literally no technical information whatsoever on those blades. They don't even bother to list the blade's diameter. Tenryu and Onsrud make some the highest end manufacturing blades money buy and not even they are that expensive.
  6. Advice on small paint booth compressor?

All this. Ideal setup, especially for spraying paint - Compressor > Refrigerated Dryer > Filter I figure though if you're getting away with a small pancake compressor, or whatever you've been using, you probably won't need all that fanciness right away. Haha
  7. Advice on small paint booth compressor?

If you're going to spend that much on a compressor, you might as well spend slightly more and get a reputable brand with an actual warranty and available parts. We have a 15hp Ingersoll Rand Rotary screw now but we've had two IR Pistons in the past and we didn't pay much more than the one from...
  8. Best panel saw blades?

http://www.toolstoday.com/p-5310-non-melt-plastic-cutting-saw-blades.aspx We use those blades on both our table saws and 3 of our miter saws. We have them sharpened bi-weekly and replace them every year. They're great for both acrylic/plastics and aluminum. Freud also makes a decent triple...
  9. Who can make a Decorative Brochure Stand

Haha. I was wondering why we haven't been getting many orders from our neighbors to the north recently. Not until we had our chat about the Oce did it all make sense. =D
  10. LEJ 640 white color not solid.

Well you want get any argument from me that the 640 is a disaster. However, our FT does print opaque white when you give it the much needed attention it requires. Maybe our opinions of white are different. Feel free to post a picture and I'll compare it to ours.
  11. LEJ 640 white color not solid.

If you don't use your white at all for a few days, it will start to settle which will give you transparent whites which will last until it runs through all the settled ink in the lines or whatever the technical term is. Each day, the first time you run a white print it will run a circulation...
  12. Who can make a Decorative Brochure Stand

Thats insanely expensive for what they are and a lot of them look like they use really thick acrylic which is overkill. You're in Texas so contact a company called A & C Plastics. They're a massive plastic supplier and could give you info on someone who could make them locally in Dallas. If...
  13. Ink Adhesion Issue

Unless you've previously printed on P95/Clear without adhesion issues, it's probably just an adhesion issue and not your equipment. Our roland would do the same thing. We've been using Supply55 AP3155 with huge success. Even when we heavily dilute it, it still works great.
  14. Magnet cutter

Not necessarily. If you're printing 25 custom sized magnets for 'So and so' just print an extra one with a red dot in the center and it becomes your template for that order/specific size. Hand cutting 1 seems better than 25.
  15. Magnet cutter

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best ones. Good luck. =D
  16. Magnet cutter

Haha fair enough. What do you mean by use a circular pad? You really don't even need a hole in the template, just a printed dot would be fine. The template would stay on top of the part you're cutting while you cut it and it should stay since it's magnetic. In theory anyways. This is all...
  17. Magnet cutter

You're telling me it takes longer to place a circle on top of another circle and cut it in the same way your "design" does vs. perfectly lining up a four pointed ruler that doesn't even exist? You came here supposedly looking for a solution for your problem, and many people offered good input...
  18. Magnet cutter

Here you go 1.Cut a circle the same diameter as your magnets design 2.Find the center with a tape measure 3.Mark center with pencil 4.Place that circle over your design 5.Use Olfa or similar circle cutting tool like attached Repeat steps 4-5 as many times as needed.
  19. Magnet cutter

A CNC machine? A Laser cutter? If you've been cutting circular and/or custom shaped magnets for 10 years and it's such a significant part of your business, I don't see how you could not invest in one or the other. In the time it'd take you to hand cut 100 magnets, a laser could do in 2000 if not...
  20. Magnet cutter

It sounds more like you're trying to develop a product to sell and seeking input on your design vs. solving a problem with your workflow and seeking ideas on how to easily solve it.
