I was thinking something alone these lines as well. Only thing is he said it changes colors with a remote and I can't seem to find any RGB versions of that kind of lighting anywhere. The EL type lighting is the same deal. No RGB versions made that I can find. =/
We make edge lit signs here and I don't see how that could be one. It isn't clear acrylic, it has color and there is no housing for lighting/controller or discernible light source on the edges.
Have a customer who wants a sign just like this but with their logo and I can't quite understand how it's made from the pictures alone. He said it's only sitting off the wall about 1/4" which doesn't much room for back lighting. It changes colors also which means it's LED. Even if I knew how to...
Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately this isn't your typical backlit application and the usual double strike isn't nearly dark enough. We actually may have to print the black 4 times to achieve complete blackout that we need. When we run the color that many times the logo becomes so...
It's a backlit type application. The black background has to be 100% opaque to block out the light and logo needs to look normal.
It's an Oce 365 GT. Clear acrylic.
I can do it in photoshop if necessary, I was just hoping for a more automated solution since Onyx is able to differentiate...
I have an application where I need to print the background of an image 3x but the logo itself only once. I'm able isolate the black background to print only the logo but I need the exact opposite. I need to print only the black and leave the rest empty. Is there a way to invert the selection...
I have some bad news for you. It can't be fixed.
I tried for 6 months straight. 4 techs from my dealer and 2 techs from Roland flew out and could not figure it out. The reason they couldn't figure it out is because it's a flaw with the printer itself. They were all set to replace my FT with...
The issue was with the printer itself and was never resolved. We ended up returning it and replaced it with an Oce 365 GT which has been working great.
More details are in a different post here: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?129430-LEJ-640-FT-UV-Flatbed-problems-Ending-my-silence
Sorry for the lack of update on this. I had been waiting for the situation to finally be resolved and didn't want to shoot myself in the foot during the ordeal by continuing to post here.
While it was a long an arduous process, my dealer came to an agreement with Roland to return the printer...
There isn't any way to just tell versaworks to print with a specific color. I do know if you take a jpeg and turn it to grayscale, it will print in a white only mode. The same may be true for metallic but I'm not sure how VW handles metallic since I've never used it.
The entire process of using...
Those samples were actually printed by Roland. Sorry for the confusion. In December we were working with Roland to replace our Flatbed because it is a disaster of epic proportions. They were all set to send a replacement for the entire thing but then decided that my problems weren't just...
Roland UV ink is the same ink Epson uses in their solvent printers?
When we we're still talking about replacement of the flatbed with Roland they sent us a sample of one of our files which used Roland color BK-21A which is just K. I printed the exact same thing on ours with the same settings...
That's kind of how these samples felt. I'm hoping they were just rushed. I've asked them to redo some samples to see if they can get a result that's more durable and won't scuff if you look at it the wrong way.
Thanks for all your input. Roland is going to be out here at the beginning of March...
Have you found that Oce K is ACTUALLY black for the most part? Our Roland K is sometimes green and sometimes brown. It's infuriating.
The samples we got back from Oce have a green tint to it like our Roland does when we only print with K. I'm not sure if they printed out black tests with just...
Usually when using contact cement/adhesive you're supposed to apply to both surfaces. I would be weary of any adhesive where that wasn't required. That specific spray says it's for permanent or temporary so I would be hesitant to use it.
I would try 3M 90 or something similar and spray both...
