Tizz. Genius! Super simple. That way you totally avoid having to solder the fuse in. I'm assuming the original is soldered in and is a tiny pain in the arse to solder.
Pics would be great! Would love to see your fuse set up to imitate it. The printer printed test prints from the printer not a rip for 2 days before the fuse blew out. I'm thinking it's a bad head. I hadn't moved the wires. Thanks
Also, thanks for all who have helped. This forum has been super...
So I come back after soaking the black & light cyan heads and I have lost magenta & yellow, b group. Heads work, tried cables from other heads. Fuses & transistors I suppose?
Just an update. The head I found rolling around in the tool bag is the Magenta and I was able to fully recover it. The new heads work great. Just changed the manifolds. Those are the yellow & light Magenta as yoi can see in the attached pic. Should have all working in a few days. :)
I'm starting with Magenta & Yellow, testing then moving on to light magenta. Right now I have 2 out red & magenta. Black may need to be replaced but it's like 60% unclogged so i'm hoping I can get it back to 100%. Definitely nervous about alignment though. I do have the service manual though.
So i got 2.5m x 8. The difference is so small I think they would work. But i'm going to wait for 2.3. Equippaint you may want to try 2.5 for the stripped hole in the carriage.
Thanks for the help. I found them at grainger. But they were 2.5 by 8mm. I got them all in SS which for the carriage is going to be necessary.
Roland Member RN, can I get the from you locally. I'm in Chicago and would rather have them exact 2.3mm by 8mm. Don't mind buying 100.
I stripped a screw or 2 working on my sc 540. Does anyone happen to know the size of the screws that hold the head plate to the head and the ones that hold the head/head plate to the printer. Trying to get them locally so I can install my heads today. Thanks for all the help guys. :)
These are new heads. Not sure if they'll have fluid or be dry. As far as soaking them. Would roland solvent cleaner be fine?
I was thinking of running air through them first with a syringe.
Great thread. Lots of great info. The 2 I took off have are dead. One I found in a bag of parts I think I fully recovered. Ironic I think. I figure the guy I bought it replaced it and left it in the bag for dead. I also have 3 new dx4's from a epson stylus pro 10600 which should be arriving...
