So for this to work in a sp-540 i need to switch the manifold to solvent. How does one go about switching from water to solvent. Simple green? Roland eco solvent cleaner? These are brand new, never used. Just got them off ebay. :)

I changed the manifold. One of the nipples broke. I purchased a solvent manifold. The leak is from that (aluminum?) Bracket that holds the teflon plate. I'm assuming that the flushing solution comes out the bottom where it's supposed to and since the plate covers the edges of the bottom it comes...

1/2 black head is working, recovered both blues once i changed the cap tops. Yellow & both magentas 95-99% gone.

Eco solvent. I currently have them soaking in solvent cleaner.

For folks that have worked on unclogging dx4's. Can I use warm/hot distilled water? If using an ultrasonic, would you use solvent cleaner or distilled water? An ultrasonic holds a lot of liquid. Also, I have fluid coming out the sides of the metal bracket that holds the teflon plate in place...

That seems like a great idea. You can find a used working 10600 printer for 750. Not to mention the other epson printers that use the dx4 head.

That is exactly what I was asking. I was told that A Rank was for Roland, epson etc & B or C goes to other vendors. I'm glad to hear there isn't.

I would love too. It's just not very affordable. It would cost me 2 to 3 times more to used Roland Technical Support. Unless their is something i'm unaware off?

Thanks for all the help. Currently the heads have been soaking for a week in the cap tops and have the yellow head out which is also soaking. Broke the manifold on two of my heads. Thinking of filling the dampers with solvent cleaner that way they can have cleaning solution on both sides of the...

That makes sense, hence inputting the rank number so the printer knows the voltage. I also thought ranking was a part of the quality of the printhead. Different ranks for different products. A tech I was talking mentioned 2 or 3 different rankings. Don't recall

Does anyone know how Epson ranks their heads? I've heard they have 2-3 different tiers. Is their really that much difference between their tiers?

I would assume it worked if he's not responding. If he was dealing with misfires he would still be here trying to figure it out. :)

Why would I need to ask Roland, a distributor knows if they are legit or not. They can answer. So what is the verdict VanderJ, will Roland guarantee your print heads?
