  1. Font ID please

Does anyone know this one? I've tried all the usual places and no luck. Thanks
  2. Summa EOT help

This is the Chinese company I buy from, their knives are great, but their router bits are not. https://www.china-oyea.com/
  3. Summa EOT help

First off don't buy blades from summa, I get them from China for a fraction of the price, a HD knife from summa is over $100, I pay $5 each, and they last just as long. If you are snapping blades, make sure your speeds are not too fast, and make sure your depth isn't too deep. If your design...
  4. Need Help Routing ACM

Vibrations are a killer for router bits. I had a similar issue with our 1612 going through router bits too quickly. We recently switched from using the foam routing mat to using 6mm thick MDF, and the vacuum table pulls even better through it and cuts down on the vibrations and moving parts...
  5. Help on Pricing Installation

Do yourself and your customer a favor and outsource the printing onto the proper film, something like ij180, or at the absolute minimum Ij40c, and do it in 1 piece, install will take literally half the time, and the film is properly rated for vehicles, so they won't come back in a year when it...
  6. Bronze plaque tarnishing

I agree, if you do end up sending it to gemini for repair, ask them to break all sharp edges before they re-coat it,it will help reduce the chance of the clear coat chipping in the future.
  7. Bronze plaque tarnishing

Gemini uses Matthews paints and clear coats, so it should hold up longer than it has. Gemini does have a warrantee and will fix it at no charge, however you need to get the plaque to them first, they should pay shipping both ways, but you would be responsible for removal, crating and re...
  8. What RA material are you using?

Our go to calendered air release vinyl is arlon 4600lx, we use the arlon 510 for short term stuff. If you don't need removability the arlon 4500 is good as well. I wish there was a Substance dealer in Canada, they do ship here but unless you are buying a pallet, the shipping kills the deal.
  9. Second surface graphics, adhesive issue on clear acrylic

Yes I've had this happen before, it's exactly what you think it is, the vinyl adhesive is pulling back from the acrylic due to shrinkage/expansion. Unfortunately I've found a full redo is needed, a direct print is the only way I've had 100% success.
  10. Question 3M Custom Vinyl Wrap

Are you doing the kind of volume dbrand is? They are a massive operation that would buy vinyl by the container load.
  11. Question 3M Custom Vinyl Wrap

It won't be a matter of buying rolls, but buying pallets. Also I would think the cost of getting a custom production run like this would cost more per roll than just buying ij180.
  12. Phasing out phone calls

Yes! I get people do this all the time,I will email a proof, and 2 minutes later I get a phone call "looks great, go ahead" now I need to stop what I'm doing so I can mark this as approved before my lizard brain forgets in 30 seconds. Why can't they just reply to the email?!?!
  13. rolling edges on composite material?

That does look cool, but I would be concerned about 2 things, how repeatable it is in production, and how durable it would be. ACM is a fickle beast, especially on small ADA style signs, every imperfection shows up. We also use ACM for braille signs and we paint the edges to match the faces...
  14. rolling edges on composite material?

Can you post a picture of what you're trying to achieve?
  15. Phasing out phone calls

Story time I never give out my cell number, but one time I messed up and gave it to a client, he was really good, but then he put his wife in charge of ordering signs, we'll she will call and text me anytime a thought pops into her head, I'll get a phone call from her at 4pm on a Sunday asking...
  16. Best Flatbed Printer Option for Aluminum Blanks

I would look at a true flatbed, not a belt fed machine like the R2000, with a true flatbed you can use jigs to print multiples. While it is possible on a belt fed machine it gets old quick. I know someone with a R2000, and he hates it, his boss was won over by HP's samples and their demos, but...
  17. Best Flatbed Printer Option for Aluminum Blanks

What kind of volume are you doing?
  18. Is Sign Agent worth it?

I look forward to it, I've voiced my concerns multiple times with sign agent staff and I seldom get a reply.
  19. Is Sign Agent worth it?

We use sign agent with one of our largest clients, they use it to manage their wayfinding signs across multiple sites, we log in and download the artwork files as needed to produce. I find it extremely un-intuitive to use, also it can not handle simple things such as double sided signs where...
