Pat, I think I've told you a out my thoughts on our epson s80600, it's been a real workhorse with minimal maintenance needed. If I had to buy a new printer tomorrow it would be another epson.
The Colorado looks like a great machine, but it's waaaaayy too much printer for us. Yes at times it...
Thanks, it doesn't need to be optically clear. We've been using a product from Magic that works ok but it's very expensive and had to be imported from the states which pretty much doubles the cost.
For donor plaques that don't change we also print on clear vinyl and just adhere it to the...
Does anyone know of a solvent printable clear film that does not have adhesive? Something like a clear acetate? We use it for printing donor names and sandwiching between 2 layers of acrylic.
I always assumed the overlays were done to ensure the text/number is straight and falls exactly where you want it, I never even thought about people changing phone numbers.
This x 1000!! We also don;t do wraps for the same reason, there are shops out there that do wraps all day long who can knock out a transit van in a day, and it will look better than my attempt which would take 4 days, In the time it takes me to wrap a car, i could produce 5 times the profit...
We do not flatbed print on acrylic, but we do reverse print on vinyl and apply to second surface quite a bit.
Depending on the overall size of the pieces, I can see why someone would want panels thicker than 0.25", when we do lobby signs over 48" long we use 0.375" or 0.5" to give it enough...
We had a custom program written in filemaker for us to track the status of jobs and to quickly create work orders, it's been working really well for us, definitely better than the old paper copy floating around the shop!
As for inventory, we've tried various ways of tracking inventory, but...
I had one about 8 years ago, I found it not to work well for large format printing, it didn't work with pantone, you could scan something and match it to a paint or Vinyl colour, but that's it. I ended up returning it.
Yeah we had similar issues with the 3M dusted crystal film, the vinyl sticks too well to the synthetic liner. We asked 3M about it and we were told we needed to use 3M transfer tape...
add a cyclone system before your shop vac, it will capture 95% of the debris in a bucket before it gets to the vacuum. we had issues with our shopvac loosing power as it filled up, now it runs at a consistant power and clean up is very easy.
we put this on a 5 gallon bucket and it works great...
It sounded like she was looking for ways to "cleanse her soul" of this money, I offered a solution.
Ask your CPA how long you need to hold onto this money before it becomes yours, after that time expires do whatever you want with it.
If he comes back looking for it, I would return it though...
