  1. New Orleans Font

Whatever the exact typeface may be, the lettering is definitely from the New Orleans Pelicans NBA team logo. I would hunt for some Pelicans related PDFs to see if there was a vector logo in there that could be snagged. The lettering could be extracted from that.
  2. Font Help Please

Sarah Script (Borges Lettering & Design). If you have an Adobe CC account it's available to sync via Adobe Fonts.
  3. Font ID Request

The attached sample looks familiar, but the What the Font filter at MyFonts web site is having no luck with it. Can't seem to find any matches at Google Fonts either. Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. Script Font ID Needed

Thanks, but I already re-created it (and the rest of the customer's logo) earlier today.
  5. Script Font ID Needed

I guess I'm just going to have to re-create the lettering. The one place that appears to offer Groovy Script to download looks suspicious. It's too bad the person who created the font didn't just offer it for sale from a legit type store like MyFonts or Fonts.com. I might have bought a copy.
  6. Script Font ID Needed

The script in the attached image looks familiar, but I can't quite place what the typeface might be. Thanks in advance for any help.
  7. Anybody use Mac?

Closest thing to a Mac I have is a 12.9" 2nd gen iPad Pro. It's a great device to have for anything that involves drawing or sketching directly on the screen. I used to hand draw a lot of sketches and elements on paper and run them through a flat bed scanner. Not anymore. The Apple Pencil...
  8. Where can I buy some nice beveled fonts?

The easiest thing to do is use "chromatic" types of fonts where multiple copies of the same text string are stacked on top of each other using different styles of that font family. Industry Inc by Fort Foundry is one example. It has bevel, shadow, inline and other styles to stack on each other...
  9. Fired a customer

Our shop passes on sign projects somewhat frequently. The most common thing is installation jobs we just can't fit into our schedule and/or the customer wants too much PITA red tape paperwork and leg work to go with it. We're not desperate for install jobs, but some of those kinds of customers...
  10. Font Help Is Appreciated

It's definitely Rockwell Bold with a good bit of squeezing and stretching done to the letters.
  11. Do you "fix" your sizes

Generally, I try to avoid distorting fonts out of their normal proportions. This can be especially critical for something like a channel letter sign. Years later if the sign gets damaged and needs cracked or broken letter faces replaced it will still be a fairly simple job even in the event of...
  12. Do you "fix" your sizes

I have seen plenty of sign codes from cities or shopping centers dictate size maximums, either in terms of inches or percentage of a store front's width or height. But I have never seen a city require a sign be built exactly to a specific length in order to get an installation permit. I size...
  13. News Serif has a 50% off Spring Sale on Affinity Software

Like the subject line says, Serif is having a 50% off Spring Sale for its Affinity creative software products (Designer, Photo and Publisher) plus 50% off for software add-ons. Designer, Photo and Publisher are each normally priced at $54.99, but are now marked down to $26.99. The iPad versions...
  14. Artwork for channel letter and other signage projects

A city's sign code requires a 3D rendering of the sign depicted on the building? Really? If that's the case then I'm 100% sure the rule is there as an attempt to prevent businesses installing channel letter signs at all. Some municipal sign codes are deliberately crafted like that. Bury the sign...
  15. Educating clients in what is and isn't high quality artwork.

Truly valuable clients usually have their s*** together and don't insult people by re-sending the same JPEG image they sent the first time wrapped inside an AI file container. At least for us the clients ordering pretty serious packages of work not only provide vector artwork of their logos, but...
  16. Educating clients in what is and isn't high quality artwork.

This topic is a never-ending struggle for my company. Most of the people providing their "logo" for a sign project ARE LAZY AND COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT DETAILS. They especially don't want to be troubled with nonsense such as the difference between pixel-based artwork and vector-based artwork...
  17. Artwork for channel letter and other signage projects

Typically, channel letter sign designs are all done in 2D form, rarely 3D. 99% of channel letter sign projects are not worth the time required to model out in 3D. The front view is a given, maybe with both close-up "detail" front and side views of the sign and then front views of the sign on the...
  18. Font ID Request

Yeah, it looks like CocoMat Ultralight, with the slightest bit of an outline stroke applied to it. I didn't know this "free" CocoMat typeface existed. I bought copies of CocoGoose, CocoSharp and CocoGothic Pro a year or so ago (on sale). The really strange thing is What The Font didn't give any...
  19. Font ID Request

Nexa is another typeface that is close but not quite right. The thin weight of Nexa has the proper stroke thickness, but the proportions are a bit too wide. Plus the stems in Nexa are squared off, the stems in these letters are slightly rounded.
  20. Font ID Request

I'm stumped by this one. What the Font is not turning up any exact matches. So I figured it must be something from the free fonts realm. At first glance I thought it might be Raleway, but nope. About the nearest thing I can find to a match is Quicksand, which unfortunately is not it either. VAG...
