this is a good thing for the industry. Their equipment was never meant for wide format...it was better suited for high speed thermal laminating. One less potential bad investment for people in the wide format industry.
They are very nice but quite slow. I sell the Roland and other UV printers....there's not much negative aspects to the Roland equipment (including their amazing support). for around the same dollars, you can get more upgradeable and faster equipment from Fluid Color out of Cincinnati. If you...
I've got them in stock in both Roland and non-Roland brands. https://hascographics.com/ink/roland-ink/ecosol-max-inks/ecosol-max-440ml/roland-ecosol-max-cleaning-solution-cartridge-220ml/
You are going down the right path. Either run the same temp but faster or reduce the temp and run the same temperature. Use the chill bar regardless....it helps to keep tension on the film as it cools down, too. It's just a heat-sink.
The new film is called Polar Blockout UV. It is only printable UV. It is a 2mil blockout. I'll see if I can find the part number.
I currently sell their more standard 6mil product. 54"x150' rolls are $466/roll
what laminator do you have?
do you have pull rollers on your laminator with a chill bar? It appears that the laminate isn't being pulled tight after the hot lam is adhered to the print...this can cause the laminate to warp as it cools back down. If you don't have pull rollers, then have...
Does it need to be white/black? If not, there's a brand new film from Drytac which is white/white and completely opaque available in 2mil and 6mils thick.
I can come by and survey the unit if that's okay with you. Is it still powered up and running everyday or has it been unplugged? Feel free to take this offline and contact me directly.
If you want to be able to print consistent colors, you should at least consider a Colorado. I've got customers who have had to go back and reprint a panel months later and it matched perfectly.
that's pretty unusual to get those issues parallel with the rollers....is the machine "jumping" at all? Sometimes you'll hear the rollers make a small clunk sound caused by the chain which needs to have a link or half a link removed to run smoother.
I'm pretty proud of the guy above who used...
there are so many monster shops in your corner of the country I'd think you'd be able to unload it if it is a good deal.....Lithographics, Supercolor, Image Options, Platon, AAA Flag....talk to the distributors you buy from who deal with the big guys and offer them a few grand spiff if they can...
if it is a flat sign, why use cast? How long do you want it to last? We have non-cast options which can last up to 7 years outdoors and for hundreds of dollars less expensive. The 7 year print vinyl and laminate will not exceed $600 combined and do the same thing. It will also be thicker and...
Nekoosa just launched a great line of polymeric etched films. One of them is designed to allow light but no visibility. The one with the most privacy is Sand Matte with 19% light transmission. They have six films with varying degrees of privacy/opacity, but since they aren't a cast film, the...
