  1. A lot of work for a low impact sign...oh well...

Just installed these at the Perot Museum here in Dallas. I guess they wanted the subtle look. White wall with white letters. I know I'm in the wrong business for someone that doesn't like heights, but it's done at least. The install was about three stories up due to the open area directly...
  2. 3M IJ40C installation...

Got two rooms of this done today, but curious if there are any specific techniques I may not be aware of when installing? I used a 6" squeeze with a felt edge. Wondering if one of the Big Squeegee's would have helped. It's pretty forgiving stuff, but tends to wrinkle up easily - I think from...
  3. Font ID please?

I know nothing about fonts. Would like to identify this one, please. Thank you!
  4. New website...

Not sure how many saw the old site I had but it definitely needed improvement. Anyway, Phillip worked this up for me. I'm pretty happy with how it came out and would definitely recommend him. www.PrecisionSignServices.com
  5. Wavy plastic wall...

...meant every hole had to first be punched with an awl so the drill bit wouldn't wander on all of the ridges. It wasn't that difficult, but more time consuming than normal. Anyway, nothing big...just bored, figured I'd post. (some of the pictures are possibly going onto my website...I don't...
  6. Spot UV business cards by 4Over, design by Phillip...

I'm really happy with Phillip's design and also with 4Over. They were fast and their prices are great. I ordered them on Tuesday (11th) and received them today (17th).
  7. New thread for the new logo...

I think Phillip hit it out of the park on this one. I'm extremely happy with it.
  8. 4Over

I see they're highly recommended for business card printing. I don't see any examples/options listed on their site - maybe I'm missing them. Is the normal procedure to call them to discuss options or are they listed on the site and I'm not seeing them? EDIT: just saw you have to sign up prior...
  9. Trivia...

What happens when you apply clear vinyl to frosted glass?
  10. Dusted Crystal, Frosted Vinyl....

I've installed a bunch of this over the years, but yesterday I installed some that just kicked my butt. I don't recall which was which, but one of them wouldn't release from the transfer paper and the other wouldn't release from the backer. I don't usually have a problem with vinyl, but this job...
  11. Does anyone know...

...if there's anything similar to this that's sold in the U.S.? click I've heard of using a wire wheel, but would prefer tool designed specifically for this.
  12. More of Phillip's handywork...

With my business name of "Precision Sign Services", we decided on taking a clean and simple approach. I'm very happy with his work - I think he did an outstanding job. Logo and business card (front & back) below:
  13. A .pdf of the 2012 sign regs if anyone is interested...

Nice to have on your phone or whatever.
  14. The signs are nice...

...but I like the building. I've been installing a bunch of interior signs at the Perot Museum here in Dallas. Don't really have any great pictures of the signs, but thought some of you may enjoy the architecture. The building is pretty amazing.
  15. A big 'thanks' to Phillip...

...and he's not even done yet. He does some pretty great work (and has tremendous patience). I'm extremely happy with the designs he's proposed. They're almost too good - it's been hard to narrow the choices down. Now that I've narrowed it down, I'm trying to decide on colors. I'll...
  16. Thoughts and opinions...

It's still a work in progress, but would like to hear some opinions. I need to expound a little more on the "About" page and I need to come up with a better photo viewer for the "Profile" page. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts.... www.PrecisionSignServices.com
  17. GT2 Corvette from a while back...

Did this some years back. It was a fun, quickie project...
  18. Just finishing up a new hospital in the area...

Been working on this for the last couple of months. Not a lot of photos as of yet, but I think I've installed around 1,500 signs now that it's all said and done. I'm kind of sad now that it's all done, it was a fun project.
  19. DeWalt DCH213 20V Max SDS Rotary Hammer

In Gary's post there was a lot of discussion about which tool would be best, which brands were preferred, etc. Just thought I would post up a few videos of the cordless DeWalt DCH213 20V Max SDS Rotary Hammer compared to the Hilti TE 30-C. Just trying to provide a helpful comparison - not...
  20. Stud-mounted letters on a split rock face...frustrating...

...but finished. Other than the frustration of the ridges and so on that kept diverting the bit off course, everything went pretty well. I'm posting this more to tout the tool more than my work. After using a Hilti for similar installations (such as the monument in the background with the...
