It sounds like the carriage home sensor is dirty or defective. Finding the limit is identifying where the flag leaves the sensor and where that is in relationship to the capping position. If it moves farther than expected (or more accurately if the printer thinks the motor has turned more than...
I'd stick with Graphtec or Summa. You can't loose with either of those. Decide if you need top of the line or if their lower level cutters still outshine most other brands.
Good luck
I just replaced one. Got the part from Airmark. It comes in a kit with a new switch and the part that pressed on the switch. Give Phil a call.
Good luck
The Y axis is carriage travel not media travel. The problem with pulleys separating was pretty much an FC7000 thing. I've not seen that since then. The encoder for this plotter is part of the motor, so you likely have a genuine movement issue or a bad motor.
It's easy enough to loosen the...

The error caused by the latest Windows update only affects USB devices. Netsol and Solventinkjet are on the right path. When something on the network changes and you have problems, look at the network for the solution.
Good luck
It looks like your print carriage is skewed. Your heads have deflections and dropouts and something is messed up with your encoder. You may also have an electrical issue with your cyan head - a cable or something.
Good luck with this.
If this is an FT model, the printer is most like an XC from your list, but is quite a bit different. The table will be the most challenging part for you because it isn't Roland-ish.
If it worked well before, and was put away properly is recommend replacing the caps, wipers, sponges and fan...
I've never seen a gasket be a problem on an Epson print head. The manifold is another story and if you're not careful when removing or replacing dampers, you can break or crack the manifold which will create an air leak. Sometimes you can see the crack if you clean off the manifold or feel it...
It's not uncommon for those tubes to get clogged. (It's hard not to put a reference to Drain-o in here) Usually you can get the clogs out with a narrow tool (a long Phillips head screwdriver is what I usually start with) to first get a path through the clog, then work it with some cleaning...
The latest firmware is 2.4. You can get it from Roland's Support page for that printer. Do this first. I may make the rest of these instructions unnecessary.
There could be a problem with the cartridge sensor causing this as well. Check that out.
If you can get into the service menu, you...
Yes, it's in the service mode. When you go in there, look for the asterisk under the "W". It should change when the sensor is in front of a pinch wheel. Try all the pinch wheels before deciding if the sensor is reading them or not. I can't remember if the asterisk is normally on or not - just...
Have you gone into the sensor test mode to see if the sensor is reading the pinch rollers? If it does, then you need to look at the Scan axis drive system. Belt tension, scan motor, home position sensors. The printer doesn't use the encoder strip when reading the pinch rollers, so don't...
You'll want to do a clean install on the new computer. Start the 7.0 install and it will load the dongle driver then want to restart the PC. Plug in the dongle and restart the install. It will see the dongle and ask for a password for the upgrade. It should be in an envelope with the install...
