  1. The annual question...how was business this year?

Ditto. I always have a lot of small businesses who, at the least, want to pay me for services they won't get until the new year. Have a few already this December!
  2. The annual question...how was business this year?

One-person + one helper in Wisconsin: Started the year normally. March 15-Oct busier than any other year. November was slower than years past. December is definitely slower so far. Maybe it's because of the election? My friend with an apparel shop said the same, slower this Nov/Dec than years...
  3. What is experience worth

IMO, it's not your experience that's so valuable, it's being on time, not calling in sick, being willing to learn, willing to teach. Maybe they are cross training everyone so people call in sick, there's someone to take their place. Everyone becomes a number, no #1's anymore. One of my areas...
  4. Looking for good DTF vendor

I just checked your site out, I like the variety of sizes you offer. Do you have any sample packs to send me? I do a fair amount of ordering but get sick of cutting stuff apart - not to be lazy but I like that you offer the chest sizes.
  5. Louis Vuitton flagship store in NYC - Outstanding project

I think I would just pop some windows in there and call it good...that's awesome!
  6. Life for a sign guy in the1930's

Super cool! Very interesting how it all worked.
  7. Alternative to banners in a school gym?

3 years later we are still using regular banners! That mom's kids graduated...it's funny how the "cycle" goes. For a couple years, nobody cares...then some Karen comes along and the next two years are a hassle, then back to "just do whatever" LOL
  8. This is why you NEVER agree to do trademarked artwork...

The guy told me he does or did drive for Acme. The logistics director never heard of him. He also come in a few weeks ago and dropped off another truck for another local company, to which I said no. It could all be legit and he's just putting them in his basement. However, first he had one, then...

On the printer or your computer?
  10. uneven cut on this only , everything else is 100%

Been there, done that! Just muscle through it and move on :)
  11. This is why you NEVER agree to do trademarked artwork...

Yes, I burned myself trying to use an excuse instead of just saying no. Once Acme emailed me, then I felt obligated...grrrr lesson learned!
  12. Chipply - I just bought it for apparel stores and love it

Yes. You need to account for that when building the pricing. My old service was WIX so paying 3.5% extra now. Here's the breakdown. Mikes and Chatterbox place the most orders. 75% of orders are tshirts. Transfer $.80 - I squeeze it on the sheets making it essentially "free" but .80 if I would...
  13. VA Flexi Sign

I was going to suggest you buy Corel or something but that is subscription based now too. Have you done a search on here? This question comes up sometimes. I'm not sure what the outcome was.
  14. uneven cut on this only , everything else is 100%

I like this idea...I would try it with the lime green, great idea!
  15. This is why you NEVER agree to do trademarked artwork...

Long story short: Even if it's approved, it might not be approved... Man came in with a plastic toy semi lettered as our local "Acme" company and a blank metal one (it's a nation wide company but based here locally). He wanted me to replicate the decals and put them on the metal one. Of course...
  16. Chipply - I just bought it for apparel stores and love it

I do the uploading on the back end. The stores that have logos on them are working stores "Mike's Kiel Lounge" etc... The "hoodies" "tshirts" etc stores I send to prospective customers to use to choose their products. Once they decide on certain products and we have a "work order" I upload their...
  17. Billboard Cover

Perfect, thank you for the response! I figure this smaller size might be a good one for me to try this on!
  18. Chipply - I just bought it for apparel stores and love it

I know most of you don't do apparel but for those of you that do, especially school stores, I wanted to share this resource with you. They are located in my home state of Wisconsin and you pay an upfront fee of $1000.00, NO SUBSCRIPTION! 50% of my business is apparel and copy/pasting apparel...
  19. How long does it take you to letter a truck?

This is a really good explanation.
  20. Billboard Cover

Question, for the back, you put the rods in the pockets. I can't quite see in your photos if there are grommets where the straps are hooked into the back of the banner or do you punch a hole like below? My billboard is 7' high x 12' long. Would your process work for that size or is it overkill...
