  1. Need Help VP540i Crash / Shutdown

My mistake on the potential issue - the VP-540i uses the RS-540 mainboard, which does not have the same network issue as the VP-540.
  2. Need Help Print problem Roland BN-20

I'm presuming you will do a power clean to charge the dampers. There are only 2 ways I can think of with the DX7 heads. One, while it is pulling ink (when the head is over the capping station), which for any air bubbles in the ink lines. I would shine a bright light on the lines at the print...
  3. Need Help Print problem Roland BN-20

Just this... Not just DX7 dampers, but ALL dampers.
  4. Roland Versacamm SP-300

It's best to create only 1 post for an issue. Multiple posts for the same problem makes for confusion in solving your issue.
  5. Roland banding problems

    Please post a nozzle check.
  6. Roland SP300V - Cutting Force doesn't change

Definitely sounds like the blade is not extended enough. The rule of thumb I use is the thickness of the media and a smidge more. A good cut should weed cleanly and there should be the slightest scoring on the backing material.
  7. Need Help Print problem Roland BN-20

Here's a source for a good captop: https://www.solventinkjet.com/product-page/dx5-dx7-cap-top-for-use-in-roland-printers It is 3rd party, but these guys are techs and dealers and they rigorously test the aftermarket parts they sell. Probably the only place online I would trust 3rd party parts...
  8. Help with my JV33

Your best bet is to post this in the Mimaki section in the Sign Equipment & Hardware part of the forum.
  9. Need Help Print problem Roland BN-20

First thing is to get a Roland OEM cap. Until you have done that, in my opinion, you are wasting time.
  10. Need Help Yellow no fire Roland BN20

FYI, it's not a good idea to start a second post on the same issue. The original post shows the continuity of the troubleshooting process. I'm only going to post future responses on the original post.
  11. Need Help Print problem Roland BN-20

Is the cap a Roland OEM cap? If not, you should replace it.
  12. Need Help Yellow no fire Roland BN20

Is the cap a Roland OEM cap? If not, you should replace it.
  13. Need Help Print problem Roland BN-20

First, make sure the ink cartridge has ink in it. Been there, done that... Felt stupid... If you rely on the display, be aware if you have ever pulled the yellow cartridge with the machine on, this display resets to 100%. Along with this is the possibility the empty flag on the cartridge did...
  14. Need Help VP540i Crash / Shutdown

The VP-540 has a known issue of the network section failing intermittently. When it happens, the printer will stop and you get a "Processing" message on the screen.
  15. Sp300i printhead replacement

Be sure to replace the captops with Roland OEM parts. As far as dampers go, I've had an excellent experience with the dampers I get from Solventinkjet.
  16. I installed Versaworks 6 on new computer. How do I get my old jobs from old computer to show up in the queues and job log on the new computer?

On your old computer, navigate to the printers folder in VersaWorks. In this folder, you will find your specific printer folder. Open this folder and copy the 2 input and 2 jobs folders over to your new computer. See if that does the trick.
  17. roland XC-540 NEW/USED Issues

Try cleaning the crop mark sensor on the bottom of the cutter head with a swab and alcohol. You may also have ink buildup on the crop mark sensor board, which can also cause random reading, (#2 in attached drawing). This will require a bit of disassembly. You can also check the crop mark sensor...
  18. Roland SP-540i print head questions

You can find media clamps here - https://dgastore.rolanddga.com/ or you can try Ebay. If you can get the short ones, you will be less likely to crash the sheet cutter by forgetting to remove the clamps when sheet cutting. Check the condition and orientation of your pinch rollers. The outside...
  19. Need Help How to adjust the Pinch Roller Pressure on VG3-540

A potential solution to your issue is to print with only the outer 2 pinch rollers and cut with all the rollers. I don't have the service manual for the VG3, but the user manual for the VG3 does have an entry on page 165 about auto up-down on the middle pinch rollers. This may help.
  20. Sp300i printhead replacement

My preferred approach is a zip lock bag, rather than paper towels. And put a touch of cleaning solution on the bottom O-ring on the damper just before installing - makes for an easier install.
