  1. Clean air compressor for new CNC

I run a 185 CFM diesel compressor and route the air through a 200 gallon receiver which drops the temp. considerably. You're right, the air needs to reach dew point to shed the moisture. I strongly suspect that the OP's compressor will not be generating a significant amount of heated air...
  2. Clean air compressor for new CNC

Aside from a refrigerated dryer, a good coalescing filter/extractor will suffice. I use LaMan. They're pricey, but they work well. I run everything from the 50 CFM model all the way up to the 250 CFM. They're awesome. I do sandblasting and the air has to be practically bone dry...

  5. ok I really want to know...

This isn't sign related, but my uncle has done colonoscopies for many of Hollywood's most elite. He says that once he turns the little camera on, they're really no different than a skid-row bum. Go figure.... JB
  6. Grocery Aisle Signage

Gino - not sure if that's directed toward my comment, but 10 mil is .010" (ten-thousandths). Roughly the thickness of 3 or four sheets of printer paper. Mils are not the same as millimeters. JB
  7. Grocery Aisle Signage

Here's a home-town solution...available most anywhere: Vertical Blinds (smooth, no texture) Tan or white, the stuff is amazing, and it's UV stabilized (PVC). It's approx. 3-1/2" wide x 10 mil thick x 78" long and typically come as a 10-pack of louvers only (no hardware, etc...). Its...
  8. Customers Not Planning Ahead is Costing Me $$$

It's the "Amazon + FedEx = Tomorrow" mentality that everyone has become accustomed to. If people had to wait 2 to 4 weeks to look at the photos they took today, they'd definitely have a new appreciation for how far we've come. JB
  9. 3M Exiting Stencil and Filler Markets Effective Immediately

IPG (Intertape Polymer Group) produces Anchor brand stencil. They're in the process of tweaking the final details on the yellow Mylar equivalent (for monument work) that 3M produced. They have an extensive product line. For wooden signs, you may want to try Anchor 117. It's a high-tack...
  10. Carpenter Pants?

#1) They insinuate work #2) The modern "male" physique (affected by estrogen hormones in the food chain?) is now encapsulated in skinny jeans*. And the dudes that fall at the far opposite end of the spectrum now wear pajama bottoms. *Seriously....many of the dudes I graduated with almost 40...
  11. Dump + Ster?

I have a strong suspicion they'd be inclined to go elsewhere....:p JB
  12. Dump + Ster?

This is just brilliant.....but I'm a bit unsettled about what happens to the liquid assets when they roll it back up on the chassis. JB
  13. It took me years to figure out....

Jonesville, Michigan USA: It took me years to figure out that I have a national treasure in my back yard. This is where the "magic-before-the-magic" happens. There is a Pinstripers Hall of Fame in the front window...talk about eye candy. JB https://www.mackbrush.com/

Did you choose your avatar name, or was it given?;) JB
  15. we've been hired to repaint this exhibit at a zoo in Nashville but they have no record of the font used as it was a loooong time ago

I can't believe I'm the only one who's heard of it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onionskin JB
  16. we've been hired to repaint this exhibit at a zoo in Nashville but they have no record of the font used as it was a loooong time ago

The OP's heading on this thread: we've been hired to repaint this exhibit at a zoo in Nashville but they have no record of the font used as it was a loooong time ago
  17. we've been hired to repaint this exhibit at a zoo in Nashville but they have no record of the font used as it was a loooong time ago

What am I missing here? Trace it on onion skin and make a pounce pattern. JB
  18. I identify as...

Yep, it's called transfender. It's when the body lines clearly state the obvious, and nobody pays attention to the title. JB
  19. the dreaded double cut

Ever since I started using Gerber Omega, I no longer have that problem (used to use SignLab). JB
  20. 3M Exiting Stencil and Filler Markets Effective Immediately

Not in this day and age. Raw material inputs are typically the same for all manufacturers of this type of product. It'll be a fight to see who has the strongest supply chain, I suppose. JB
