my shop is an absolute pig sty, there are old signs plastered all over the walls, but not in any show off way, more like i can't throw this out, pick up a hammer and closest nail and fill an empty spot on the wall. one wall looks like an abortion, it has a large banner covering the wall (8x12)...
i never have any problems with the touch screen or loading, i had three 25500's before this one, i liked them, but this is an upgrade for sure. the kinks have been worked out in my book.
I got an HP 315 20 months ago.
65K sq feet printed, about 43 carts later, haven't replaced a head, zero issues.
$9999 with free take up unit, install took 4 hours because i helped the guy

I tried scrapping the first column and painting it black and it looked like a half asssed job, they needed to be sandblasted and that wasn't going to happen.
I then looked into cutting out the posts and putting in new ones but the cost was looking to be close to a grand and that wasn't going to...
Welcome, sounds like you may pi$s off a couple people by taking sign work away from sign companies, I don't have a problem with it if you do things right.
Most of the time I find that companies who follow the path you are on end up making chit looking graphics, please make me wrong...

granted this is on painted block wall, I put this on my shop wall a couple years ago to see how well the material would stick (DPF8000) and it hasn't lifted anywhere.
that's like asking a chef if he can make a meal put it in a can and serve it when ever you want...
i get it why paint when you can print, but there must be a market for old school somewhere
i probably wouldn't now because it's not worth it and I don't put myself in that situation but back in the DOTCOM era I ripped a nice subsurface sign off of a wannabe online weather company main entrance wall.

faces kept blowing out because it was a crap sign from the get go, sign guy had to go back and replace because he guaranteed it wouldn't blow out again, made sure this time it didn't, made sure who ever touched the sign after him would think of him...
this is why we need basic income, there are too many people out there trying to run a business that should stay home and collect a check.
might as well pay off all the student debt, cuz they didn't understand borrowing money meant you had to pay it back...
