How did you make out improving your white output? In the same boat now.

Looking for best method to printing a flood coat of white on clear vinyl for reverse stick decals. I know it's never going to be 100% opaque, but I'm hopping for better results then we are currently achieving. We have tried some different profiles (canned) and different pass counts, all the way...

Update: It appears that the warranty only reduces to 6 months for labor, and remains at 2 years for parts if you forego installation and training. So not as big of a deal IMO. Anybody know if there is anything magical about this machine that would requrie install and training?

Thanks everyone for your feedback. We are going forward and purchasing one of these. Was just informed that if we forego installation and training ($1,000) that the warranty from Kala reduces from 2 years to 6 months. Probably going to just bite the bullet and pay it for the warranty. But...

Yes we are participating in that, no brainer. Can anyone else confirm that a dongle is needed to enter service mode? If so, who is going to be the first to get their hands on a "service mode dongle"?

If you can hear your solvent printer from your bedroom, I'd be more worried about filling my home with solvent fumes. Do you have a filter/ventilation system for the printer?

Ok you win I see the jv 150 does have light black ink. So yea I probably couldn't tell the difference in that. Samples we got were from the jv 300. Offer still stands about the roland though.

But if I'm wrong and you can, I'd pay $5,000 if you could get my roland to print as nicely as my epson. It'd be worth it.

Perhaps, but I doubt it if I supplied the print file. I've seen the prints off the jv33 160, that's what mimaki we are talking about right? And it does not have light black ink correct?

Only had our s80600 for a week now, coming from a roland xj540. To say that because 2 machines print the same resolution that they can print the same quality and color output is just wrong. First off these machines have different inks and number of ink colors. They also have different droplet...

I gather the reason is so the amrks along the margins of the print (not the ones in the 4 corners) need some breathing room form the image edge or they won't be able to be read. Probably why the marks align to the image and not the cutline.

So after setting these to minimum allowed values (won't let you set below certain value) our max width is 51.24" This max will be less if you have to bleed your image because the marks align to the image and not the cut line. Is there anyway to input smaller margin values than what onyx is...

I think we found the answer actually. Going to change some settings and test. But you can adjust the image margins and the mark margins. Hopefully we'll answer our own question. But please share tips.

Trying to maximize our print/cut width. New equipment in the shop, Summa S2 T160, Epson s80600, and onyx thrive 19. Printer is the newest piece and installed this week. Our max print width on 54" roll is 53.5" However when doing print/cut with barcode, we can only seem to get the max width...

Yea hopefully won't ever need to crack it open, but still prefer to have a service manual on hand. So I'm guessing nobody has a copy? I thought I saw it being shared on here during my printer research.

So no service mode? Or just on heavy lockdown?

Just installed our new epson 80600. Really impressive print quality, no more banding or graininess, looks like paint. Hoping somebody has a copy of the service manual for this model they could share. Let me know I will provide my email. We don't have an immediate need for it at the moment...

You can also save it as a vector right in acrobat after converting text to outlines, even if you don't have the font.
