I have one of these jobs coming up soon myself. 4x4 panel sign with Crezon board. 4’x 6’ Instead of cement I decided for try a product called Fast 2K. Expanding backfill composite. Says it replaces 2 bags of concrete. I seen videos online and the product seems pretty stable and strong. I...
I use Sign Tracker. Been using it for a couple of years now and love it that things are in order now. Can easily re-organize jobs, make quotes. Now the jobs are out of my head! Company is based out of Texas. Excellent tech support too! Family orientated business.
Hi. Oralite is my preferred choice for reflective on vehicles. Took a little getting used to because it’s not as supple as 3M. Kinks a little easier. But the game changer is the cost compared to 680i and it’s 54” wide!!!! Means you stick one size laminate and wider prints mean bigger...
Use OPOS paneling. I cut stuff that’s 10’ long, striping, lettering, printed and laminated on reflective. Turn velocity down, I set anything rated for g’s down to about 1. Check and clean pinch wheels. I also added two more pinch wheels. Vendor said that won’t do anything but it does...
The Summa DC5sx will be identical to the Edge, except you can print wider. I still have my Edge LE I bought in 1998, and replaced print head under warranty and it's still working fine, though I don't use it much anymore.
I do not have a clue on how to do that I use what little profiles I have which is what I have in SignLab and they only supply a few for SS2 inks and I use ES3 inks I’ve been getting by and when I check online with manufacturers no one that I’ve seen so far has profiles for ES3 inks you’d...
Good to know. I liked the 3M 3200 because it was cheap in price and preformed reasonably well. I never used it on vehicles, just on signage. I will look at the Avery V4000. Thanks for the tip!
Nope. I already printed on clear laminate, then I'll have to laminate that then mount on reflective then mount on the signs. Won't be buying that stuff again. At least the 3M 3200 series prints fine. Not made for it but the ink holds well.
Hi I have the Evolution 3 Freehand cutter Works very well but because of no fixed base to it you really need a flat surface to use this cutter They are very well made. I have the 120” so I can cut 8’ width prints and corroplast sheets KeenCut products are very highly rated and very well...
Nope! What a pain. The Summa has to read all the rollers then cut, then when you rotate it, it has to read the rollers again. Too slow. Back to the drawing board again.
I am thinking out of the box here and maybe I should just utilize what I already have. I have a KeenCut Evolution 3 Free hand 120" cutter and a Summa S2T160. I can roll up my banners and prints on the summa and just use the cut off function, and set up a flat table just for the KeenCut cutter...
Yeah, the Neolt are made in Italy. Price between these two are roughly $1400-$1500 with the RS being less $$$. The Neolt only has a gap of .6mm so it won't corroplast for sure.
Thanks for the lead. I saw them on Binding the other day.
