  1. Can you decode this logo?

Target's symbol is what their name is. A target. Apple's symbol is what their name is. An apple. These are the very best sorts of symbols, things which look exactly like what the name is. That's the purpose of the symbol, to represent the company. Easily. Toyota's symbol is a T made of two...
  2. Plastic cover for U-channel Post

You could buy yellow bollard sleeves and cut the tops off. Or buy yellow MDPE pipe meant for gas lines.
  3. S80600 Missing Cyan

You need a new capping station.
  4. Looking for a media to print on (eco-solv) for 2nd surface mounting

We print on clear vinyl and laminate with white vinyl. The clear we use is an Oracal.
  5. all three fonts?

Not Castle Bold. Capital C is wrong. It's Peignot Bold. It has a lot of knockoff names as well. Hamburgers is Arial stretched as you guessed. And Brush Flash or Brush 455 are correct.
  6. Need Help Onyx how to flip every other tile sent as separate jobs?

The flipping every other tile only works if you send the entire graphic to Onyx and have it divide it up into tiles itself. You can control the width of the tiles and the amount of overlap. If you're creating the tiles yourself, turn off "allow rotation" and then when you import the files...
  7. Wall Vinyl Install

Make sure they don't paint with paint that repels everything. That makes it so vinyl doesn't stick.
  8. General Formulations...

    Grimco sells GF films
  9. Understanding optically clear laminate / Laminating reflective vinyl

Now it makes sense. I didn't understand that there was a printed sign involved. And you did it the right way. Laminate the print, then apply cut vinyl over the top of that. In that case, if the print was not on reflective, matte would work.
  10. need a super vivid mirror chrome vinyl

Are you going to cut letters from it or use it as a mirror?
  11. Understanding optically clear laminate / Laminating reflective vinyl

There is absolutely no reason to overlaminate cut reflective vinyl. It will, in fact, degrade the look of the sign because the laminate will bridge at the edges of letters, leaving essentially a line of air bubble around every letter. The reflective signs you would laminate are the printed ones...
  12. BIPOC

I think CWAD refers to women who are assertive and run the show. Sort of like the wife who wears the pants in the house.
  13. Heat Gun Hip/Belt Holster

We don't stand on ladders to wrap a box truck. We use a walkboard between two stepladders. And they have these handy notches in the edge of the plastic on the top that you can run your cords through so they don't pull your tools down. But we never set a heat gun (or torch for that matter) down...
  14. Font Help

Although the letters were probably based on some font or maybe even letraset letters, the way these letters look it is most likely that back in the 1930s or 1940s somebody hand drew this logo, and screenprint companies have just rephotographed it over the years to degrade the letters to the form...
  15. Need help selecting car wrap material/lam

We use Avery MPI1105 EZ RS with DOL 1360Z. It is currently available from Grimco. I wouldn't mix brands of film and laminate.
  16. Idea for a new thread......................................................................

Ahhh, the electro-pounce. Source of much hilarity when you could get a newbie to shock himself with it.
  17. Idea for a new thread......................................................................

I started in 1993 and for the first few years we were mixing the old ways with computer cut vinyl lettering. The shop I worked in was already using PCs, but we also painted pictorials and lettering on billboards, did some custom painted backgrounds on signs, and also wall murals. We used an...
  18. Applying Window Cling To 18oz Banner

I think there is a belief that they can print some two sided 18 oz banner material and somehow laminate static cling to it that will cause the banner to adhere to the window.
  19. stickers for gas pumps

It's just cut on a plotter ("kiss cut") and not weeded away. Anybody can do that. Pretty sure that when they put the sticker on the gas pump the part inside that cut is left on the paper, and the yellow rectangle goes around the card reader device.
