  1. Substrate Stuck on Curing Module Area

About every 6 months or so, which is probably excessive. I suggest doing it when your SMK3 is at 50% and again when changing the kit out. So every 1-2 years depending on how much you run it. The vent holes are tiny and get clogged easily which affects the curing.
  2. Substrate Stuck on Curing Module Area

I would take the curing unit completely off and do some spring cleaning of the vents while I'm at it. But I'm a maniac who likes taking it apart.
  3. Discussion I know my answer already, what's yours...........................

Just went through this with a customer, I gave up and we did about 20 doors with a black logo. Looks absurd. (This was for a college that teaches graphic design out of that building...)
  4. Onyx - tiles - marks

Sewing marks I only use for pole banners so our stitcher knows where to fold. Adds a dashed line a certain distance from the edge. For murals, the only mark I ever add is a center mark if it's a really big mural so we can install from the middle out. I've never used any type of marks for...
  5. Equivalent to 3M 180mC?

I believe you would want the Avery SW line, not the SC.

  7. Need Help Exporting Multiple cut files in Onyx RIP from same file?

You can send the job to the Summa and then archive the file in Cut Server, then navigate to the XML file and open it in notepad, change the device from Summa to I-Cut and it will let you open that archived file into your I-Cut queue. I've never tried to actually cut a file this way but I was...
  8. What are peoples go to vinyl and Laminate combo for small vehicle decals

We try to use cast for anything going on a vehicle, but if they're not willing to pay for that then we'll use 40c. A little more expensive than 35 but we've found it to be a safer option. Are they putting them on themselves? Could be they're not cleaning well enough. We've used 35 in the past...
  9. HP L26500 faulty ink cartridge

We've had it happen on our 360 a couple times, if it's under warranty you can get a replacement from HP. If it happens often then the ink cartridge sensor is faulty, we had to replace 2. From what I gathered, once the printer deems a cartridge faulty then it will just keep spitting it out.
  10. Need Help Onyx Postershop 12

We're having the same issues, usually if I click the printer status (blue bubble with exclamation point in the top right) and close it, it will update the media. The not closing down properly I still haven't found what causes it since sometimes it's fine and other times it's not.
  11. 22oz Banner Material

Can you get away with 20oz? Ultraflex and CooleyBrite make some.
  12. ShopVox & Corebridge - Job costing

The function isn't very practical in CoreBridge, I heard they were looking at changing it somehow but I never liked the idea of doing it that way. We have quality control forms that get filled out on every docket with design/install times and to ensure proper steps are taken by sales, design and...
  13. 18oz banner printed and sewn hems?

Welded really depends on the welding machine, we have a garbage one that I haven't plugged in in years. But I've seen really nice ones out there. We typically go sewn on large stuff. We use a local upholstery shop that gives us pretty good pricing to get them done. You may want to reach out to...
  14. Onyx Thrive making a margin or gutter... Any ideas??

Check your media size manager, I believe there are gutter settings in there for all the different media widths. Or you could try sending as a no margin print and it may center better.
  15. Suggestions clean removal air release vinyl after 1 week?

Something like 3M IJ180-10UR? (UR = Ultra Removable)
  16. Canvas stretch - problem

I would guess it's the canvas. If it's tight when it leaves your shop then it's stretching out over time, I would check to make sure the canvas is actually meant to be used in stretch frames. The only thing I could think technique-wise is that maybe it's too tight or your corner brackets are...
  17. Canvas stretch - problem

Do you take the canvas around to the back of the frame and staple it? We also use a line of glue on the inside edges before we fold up the frames and assemble. What brand and thickness of canvas are you using?
  18. Suggestions wholesale flatbed print & cut in canada referal

Sinalite has flatbed printers and cutters, they should be able to do it as a custom order. They're in Markham I think.
