First hint: It's on Craigslist. Second hint: "Quick sale". Not saying you shouldn't look into it, but be very cautious.

  3. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

So the plot thickens. Just received a phone call from a great friend and an incredible salesman who works for CET (which made our decision to go with HP even harder). He is very aware of the situation and they are working incredibly hard to resolve the problem. I am going to private message...
  4. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

We ended up going with an HP. There definitely is no perfect machine as we had some major issues right out the gate, but thankfully they moved quickly to resolve them. I am still very cautious to say too much about HP as I have heard horror stories about them as well, but we have been very...
  5. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

This was a major concern of mine when looking at CET. When one of their selling points is that many of their parts come straight from Grainger, that puts lots of doubt in my mind. When I am paying $100k+ for a printer, I would hope that the parts are of better quality than Grainger. I know...
  6. Rigid vinyl

I can't exactly tell you the difference between rigid vinyl and styrene or PVC, but we print a lot of the .015 clear rigid vinyl (never used the white). You can get it from either Sabic or Piedmont Plastics films divisions. I believe we buy 24"x50" sheets, but I know there are other standard...
  7. I love 3M.

Very true. I am surprised that 3M would even consider you ordering direct. Either way, definitely sounds shady on 3M's part.
  8. FB500/700 users...Need help

We have utilized the print delay by 1 second on each pass to offset the heat from the lamps. Basically it pauses the carriage for 1 second after each pass to allow time for the material to cool. It is essentially doing the same thing unidirectional printing is doing, but less head travel. It...
  9. FB500/700 users...Need help

We are running some .015 clear rigid vinyl sheets (25"x52") second surface with a white flood and are getting head strikes due to the heat from the lamps. We are using the clear sheet profile with the vacuum on high and the lamps on low. Anybody have any suggestions on how to prevent this? We...
  10. Alternate Use for a Flatbed Printer

Very interesting concept. Not sure how you would do this as the emulsion used to coat screens is very thick. I don't think you would be able would be able to pass the emulsion through the heads and if you could, I don't know if you could lay down a thick enough coat. I could be completely...
  11. FB500 white or clear static cling material?

Not sure how you are running it, but when we demoed this printer at HP this was one of our biggest concerns. They ran both rolls and sheets of the stuff through the printer and it turned out great. But that was also at their demo facility where ever thing is perfect. I know this doesn't help...
  12. Epson S70670

  14. Wholesaler/Manufacturer for brochure box holder

Needing a good wholesaler or manufacturer for a good quality brochure box holder that you can attach to real estate frames. Would prefer it to have a clear front with a open/close lid on top. Needing between 1000 - 1500 per year. Anybody have a good recommendation?
  15. Rear Window Perf - compound curves = liquid lams??

Not trying to threadjack, but we are doing the rear window of a Honday Odyssey this week. It has a bit of a curve to it and are worried about the perf going down smooth. Are there any tricks? Install without laminate?

  17. Question on installing window perf

Thank you all for the feed back. We work very little with perf, but have two vehicles to do this week and next. Just want to make sure it looks and functions perfect.
  18. Question on installing window perf

So I guess the best thing is to not apply with much pressure? We were not using much pressure to begin with, but I guess we will try using less. Is it better to use a felt squeegee or regular plastic squeegee? Thanks for the info! Any other tips?
  19. Question on installing window perf

We installed some perf on the back of our company truck and everything went down smooth. In the light I notice some spots where it looks like the laminate is touching through the holes in the perf and making contact with the glass. Looks like air bubbles but aren't. Is this common? What can...
