  1. I am losing my best friend

Thanks everyone for your kind words. It does not look good but we are trying to stay positive
  2. I am losing my best friend

FYI, I have had a frequent autoreply in my email due to several absences. My dog Jake, only 4 years old is in critical condition with possible liver failure. He has gone down hill pretty quick in the past 2 days I am hoping that he pulls through so we don't have to make a difficult decision...
  3. F*&% pos **%$&* $&*&

Buttons are for amateurs. Keyboard shortcuts are the way to go.:thumb:
  4. F*&% pos **%$&* $&*&

Time machine set for hourly and only works if you save it to begin with. Don't want to run it more than once per hour
  5. F*&% pos **%$&* $&*&

    Mac or PC?
  6. Android Phone? Hello Big Brother!

Any idea of anyone can use "sniffers" or similar to get info from your cellphone when using a cell signal (3g for instance)? When I am using a wi-fi public hotspot I never access my phones paypal, bank or credit card apps in fear that someone could get my passwords. But I frequently use it when...
  7. F*&% pos **%$&* $&*&

Yes but still keep thinking how much farther along I would be had I not been so forgetful or wishing Adobe would have included such a simple feature. One you could turn on/off. Autosave might be a chore on incredibly large files
  8. F*&% pos **%$&* $&*&

That would be ideal. Apparently the engineers at Adobe don't collaborate as much as they should
  9. F*&% pos **%$&* $&*&

and hitting save every few minutes. Here is one I did last night, without issue
  10. F*&% pos **%$&* $&*&

That is what I just said. Been working for about 40 minutes on a job and forgot to hit save. Illustrator crash, lost everything 2011 and Illustrator STILL does not autosave
  11. Android Phone? Hello Big Brother!

If someone sues, lawyers will get rich, and the users will all get a lousy $10 gift card to buy some accessory from their respective phone service
  12. Fun with Vectorization

Huh? I did not quote it or have the opportunity to do so. As I mentioned in the my first post, I would never have taken the job. If they want to take on that kind of work for $35 they are welcome to do so. As you can see it did nothing but make the other company look bad.
  13. Wide screen monitor

Maybe you have an old graphics card that does not support wide screen aspect ratios. So it is stretching a regular aspect ratio to fit your wide screen
  14. Image Requirements

I have dealt with designers that don't know even know what a vector is. It will be a daily struggle and you won't often succeed. Sometimes you ask for higher res art and all they do is upsample the same low res file in photoshop. Or if you ask for eps, they just embed the same low quality...
  15. Font ID Please

i would try ITC Century. There are many versions of Century so maybe you are looking at the wrong one
  16. Adobe's new pricing strategy

Are you talking about 5 to 5.5 upgrade? If yes then there is no major difference in Photoshop or Illustrator. Only the mobile content and Indesign were updated Most of the changes are if you have cs4 or lower
  17. Fun with Vectorization

Communication is key. Some people here think that this looks fine for $35 while others say it should have been a $200+ job if they wanted it to look good. That is the big problem. If you shop on price you never know what you will get. Had I wanted/taken the job and quoted $200 the customer...
  18. Fun with Vectorization

    Except yours truly
  19. Fun with Vectorization

Back from vacation and found this thread. No I would not have taken on this job. As mentioned some art is not ideal for vectoring. And certainly not $35. It is not an impossible vector job but you cannot expect much for $35. I would rather turn down a job than make a promise I cannot keep. Here...
  20. Adobe's new pricing strategy

But not everyone NEEDS to upgrade every year. If you don't you are now being penalized. Does this mean they come up with updates (err bug fixes) and feature bloat more often and force everyone to pay? I can understand someone who is back on cs1 or cs2 should pay more but cs4 users? With this...
