Cut like wallpaper. If you just overlap, it leaves a dark stripe where it is lapped. As far as pricing goes, we try to stick to the sqft. pricing. Maybe add a little more for a curved wall.
Phototex is very easy to apply. Just make sure to cut seams cleanly or it will run. The wall was painted by the museum with an eggshell paint. We gave them samples and they picked the EXS version over the standard Phototex.
The first curve was a little trouble for lining up the first two pieces. After that it wasn't enough to cause a problem. It was printed in 12 52''wide vertical pieces on a hp8000. No liquid laminate was used.
The EXS is just a higher tack version for the solvent printer. It is not any more...
This is a recent job we did for the Mariners' Museum. The wall was 14' tall and 50' long and had a slight s-curve to it. We used the Phototex exs on this job. It was the first time using the exs and it worked very good.
I recently had this happen. After lam. I cut the prints out the next day. Weeded the prints and in some places it was like the lam. pulled the surface of the reflective off the glue leaving the glue on the liner. Didn't damage prints so I just kept going. Thought it was strange then I saw this...
I have used Brightboy blocks in the past to clean stainless. Just rub in the grain direction. They come in different sizes but I like the eraser size for hand work. Usually a few rubs and its done.
I think you can use the Badge feature for that. I really have not tried it. I'm pretty sure a video of how to do it is at cadlink in the infosource area.
Update
I fixed the problem. I had to go into the camplot.ini file and change the port setting to match what the device manager in windows as giving my edgeport adaptor. In this case it was com port 7. All better now.
I have been using camplot for years on a windows XP machine. Its was running through an edgeport usb adaptor. I now have to load camplot onto another computer. I have connected the edgeport to the new XP machine and loaded camplot. My problem now is camplot can't find my router. I get a" can...
I have been thinking about getting into the LED market as well. These signs are showing up all over our area now. I called Watchfire and they wouldn't sell to me stating my area was already over saturated. They just gave me the names of other shops to pass the work to. I have several long time...
My Graphtec fc4100-75 from the 90's still getting it with no repairs other then normal wear items. Had a Roland pc-60 print and cut but the cut was so slow on that model but never let me down either. Now using Graphtec f7100 mostly for large cutting. Graphtec is our workhorse.
