Do they need laminated? If so you’ll be limited to either latex or UV.
we run a Colorado and a mimaki, using a summa s2 t160 cutter. Due to low curing temp on the Colorado the SAV doesn’t tend to warp etc and I’ve been hugely impressed with the summa since install.
that being said, are you...
I’m not familiar with your software and you’re not the most articulate but it appears you’ve made your files on one pc, and then just copy and pasted them over to another pc to print?
Isn’t there some sort of output file that’s needed for your software? On the very rare occasion we need to use...
Our laminator doesn’t have a roll to roll option. But I tend to just tape the output to a core and sit it on the back rollers and put a heavy pole in there. Works perfect.
that being said, We do get out supplier to cut 1” off the laminate to avoid any extra laminate etc from skewing. Just pop...
Rasterlink 6 might just be the worst piece of free software out there. 3 more steps to do jobs than there needs to be and the visuals are way off. Absolutely no need to show you the extra image for the print and cut job as if it’s a different job.
Rasterlink 5 was miles ahead of rasterlink 6...
I could probably be doing with some printer suggestions. Got three printers running non stop and apparently the Colorado is busy until Tuesday if I go by how long it says it should take to print all it’s jobs lol
We just export everything to PDF and have any customer supplied artwork made into PDF before submitting. Saves a load of hassle. Especially on our digital machines with customers sending in dodgy word files. Never have any issues.
I take it you’re exporting the indesign file as a PDF? Or eps? Both should work fine.
so the steps are;
1, drop artwork into indesign (are you stepping these up here or using onyx?)
2, drop data merge placeholder and cut/perf lines (saved as specific spot colours etc)
3, merge (single or...
Our litre ink costs are comparable then. After running the numbers canon quoted us about 80p sq/m on ink at full coverage but going by our printed sqm and how much ink we’ve used, it’s more around 50p sq/m including wastage. Naturally as not all our jobs are full coverage.
that’s compared to...
What ink costs were you quoted on the Colorado’s? And what ink cost(s) do you get on the HP’s and epsons? I’ve just run the numbers on our throughput/ink bought/used and we’re a LOT cheaper running the Colorado than we are our old mimaki (with third party inks).
Yeah, even the attitude to just plain call it impossible, even if she was incompetent you'd at least give a timescale instead of going right to impossible!
or maybe thats where I’m going wrong. Gonna try the impossible route next time I get a PITA job, I’ll keep you updated lol
Canon never sells anything list price lol. Everyone gets a different deal based on who you are, your throughput etc. They can make any money back on service contracts, inks, consumables etc. Their maintenance equipment, swabs etc are all pretty pricey if you buy direct. Not to mention any canon...
Yeah on a 3000 you can probably do 2 rolls on indoor high quality in about 45 mins. I’d guess just finding the work to run 10 rolls a day would be my biggest issue lol
No knowledge of HP’s but I’d guess 2CT is right here. On our mimaki (6 pinch rollers) if you loaded a job that had its registration marks outside of 1 or 6, I’d get that error. I’d hazard a guess that’s the same problem here. Try running a smaller job that’s just centred on the roll and see if...
