There are many ways to go about it, get an estimate program or spreadsheet or learn how to sell with ballpark pricing. I prefer the latter because it runs off the people that aren't serious. Sometimes people are only daydreaming and ask for prices because they might want to do something...
AFAIK you can't with certain products but I was talking more about in house repairs. If a printhead or something needs replaced, I want to do that myself after hours or on a weekend to avoid workflow interruption. You generally keep machinery highly utilized so having to wait a week or more...
I think this is becoming less true as time goes on. I don't use Alibaba for anything except basic stuff like buying squeegees in bulk. You'd probably be surprised at how many well recognized printer manufacturers are using rebranded complete Chinese machines, frames or other parts of the...
Uh oh. Hope they aren't that stupid? I'll rig up something if need be. What head is in that printer?
I've bought quite a bit from China. As long as you do your research and buy from the source you can find good products. They are really easy to deal with if you know what you want but they...
I'm sort of following this point. So it essentially measures lab values from a control point, then your printer output, runs through software which adjusts the ICC to match the control, reprint and check again? Or do you have to tweak parameters over and over until it tells you the match? Is...
They have a couple models of plotters that are decently priced and heard good reviews on them. We have a print/cut machine and used that to cut for a long time, it's slower on this vs a stand alone but it's really accurate. We recently got a summa s2t160 with opos cam which is a great plotter...
We also ordered one from Lefu, they have a good reputation from what I could find.
You can see the digitally controlled slitters this one has. I really got it for the swing out air shafts but if these actually work it'd be nice.
I know this is a dumb question but will ask anyways. Are ICC profiles universal or RIP specific? Could an i1 be used in Flexi and transfer that over to an older version of Flexi or even use in Onyx or any other RIP? Can you create profiles independent of your RIP? I'm not real sure how this...
It's a Chinese machine, not sure if I need to say more haha. If it works I'll report back, if not I'll keep quiet to avoid the I told you so's. We've had pretty good luck with the import laminators and thought we would give one of the big units with swingout air shafts a shot. It's 1500 lbs...
We ordered a new laminator with slitters that have a sensor and motor that is supposed to adjust the knife position to compensate for skew. It'd be nice if it worked but don't have high hopes
It didn't used to be that bad, now it's pushing the price point of a low end cast like Briteline and GF so kind of pointless. You do get what you pay for though, I see some stuff we did 7-8 years ago that doesn't show the slightest bit of age and that's in Florida sun.
It did it to us this morning with 651 white on the Graphtec. You can't walk away from it while it cuts because sometimes it's so bad that it jambs up the cutter, bad on the graphtec but less on the summa and mimaki. I'm not a fan of the graphtec. at all Maybe vacuum is weaker which makes it...
