  1. I believe in providing levity to my coworkers

You don't have those same discussions with your self over the purchase of green and beige masking tape?
  2. icc issues

"Setting"? That's not usually how I think of profiles. What RIP are you using? What profile are you using? What material are you printing on? Who set up the machine and trained you on it and the RIP? Did they run a print after they were finished to show it was all working correctly together...
  3. Discussion Anyone experience issues with ecosolvent, UV, vinyl smell?

I started with a Mimaki JV3. You could not stand to be in the same room with that printer, though I knew some big places that had their people working in a room with two of them. I put the printer in a room by itself with outside venting. With the Epson S70670 I use now, it's about 5 feet away...
  4. dust & particle on prints epson s30670

The only way I can see to be getting dust on prints as they feed out of the printer is that the vinyl has dust on it going in. You either have a contaminated roll of vinyl or the room is extremely dusty. Changed your furnace filter lately?
  5. Font Help round square font?

Digital Serial Extra Bold that's been stretched.
  6. Mimaki CG-FXII and Onyx Cutserver

We've been using that combination since we opened 14 years ago. Never had to do anything to get it to cut in the right place. As far as I know there is no calibration utility in CutServer.
  7. Business Management - 6/16/2020 - open discussion

I had never heard of the color personality test. Found a free one online. I came out a red.
  8. Business Management - 6/16/2020 - open discussion

Yeah. I sometimes wonder what's wrong with their toilets at home.
  9. Mac Goes Arm

Sounds like Apple is trying to do a Windows 10. Make it to where computers are just a big phone.
  10. Customer Mask Requirements

I can't speak to what's happening in Oklahoma, but here in Missouri, though the number of cases has continued to be added to every day, and a small handful die each day, the number in the hospital has been declining the last 2 weeks. What we're seeing is that rural counties which had not had...
  11. Need Help GBC Laminator - reverse wound issue

You have to pull that first foot or so out, holding it away from the supply roll of material. Once it's hanging off the end of the laminator, gravity suffices. When the supply roll is smaller, there's less of a problem because the exiting vinyl won't touch the supply roll and stick.
  12. Maybe real business advice

You can mute a group text.
  13. Cut vinyl on printed?

It's also commonly done on car wraps when a particular sponsor decal needs to be accurately placed.
  14. Customer Mask Requirements

Nobody here is requiring it, and very few wear masks anyway. Only the hospital and doctor's offices are requiring masks. The two or three people a day who come in we are not requiring masks.
  15. Epson DX4 Deflection

Head soak, disway wash. Try again.
  16. PERFORATED VINYL.. WHAT THE HECK..

The holes are what causes it not to look as bright and vivid. However, when you install it on a window that is dark on the backside (the interior light is much less than the outside light) and view it from a moderate distance, the eye and brain make up for it fairly well.
  17. Question Anyone use Onyx PosterShop 12 with a cutter? Camera Reg?

In Onyx you use a separate module called CutServer to run the cutter. It can be installed on a different computer from where Onyx is installed, and doesn't require the dongle. You can even use older versions of CutServer with newer versions of PosterShop. You designate the output folder for...
  18. Lamination Cost and Pricing....

It's fine that you have figured it in such detail, but I think you'll have a hard time working that pricing with a customer. Just simplify it to how much per square foot does lamination add.
  19. When a potential client begins to introduce a new project.

I think there is a fundamental problem with what Robert is trying to do here. I don't think he actually has any experience with managing sign shop businesses, and I don't think he has any idea of what sign shops are like or what they do. I think he is intending to apply some pop-psych cum...
  20. Things that make you go hmmm - Corel Conspiracy Theory

I am using Windows 10, and also have Corel's latest subscription version. However, I also still have all the versions back to X6 still installed. I fired up X6 and did a brief test drive. Then shut it down. Found no odd behavior. No popup trying to sell me anything. Maybe you just need to adjust...
