  3. Sticky situation : Controlling humidity levels

Anyone have a problem with humidity controls like we do? Printing and work room is approximately 1000 sq feet. Current humidity is 73% but it has been as high as 85%. I do not own the building and we will most likely be leaving in a year, so I don't want to install a central dehumidifier...

  5. CE 5000 Print + Cut question

We are having an on-going print cut battle - This is our latest problem: For some reason, after successfully reading the first (of 4) registration marks, it only advances 13" or so in attempt to read the second mark. In this case, mark 2 is approx 52" away. Again, on the rare occasion we...

  7. New toy: GFP 463TH 63” Top Heat Laminator

...which we call: Lamdo Calrissian. This is our first real laminator, purchased from Advantage. It took a little bit of time to translate instructions during set up (pretty poor technical writing). But after set up, we were laminating long sheets perfectly within 30 minutes. A genuine...

As if material gets much to hot while print job is starting, warps material and catches head. Non-stop.
  9. CE 5000 Print + CUt

...can suck it. It takes me about 30 tries to get the damn thing to read registration marks. Today, it won't read. But instead of returning to it's origin point, it cuts a diagonal line across the entire print. What gives?!? Carry on.
  10. Tabletop cutters

Anyone have a cost effective method (or table-top cutter) for trimming 1/2 foam core? Not the bulk of our jobs, but need a decent trimmer anyways.

  13. Damn it's hot in here...

Finally getting taste of warmer weather down here - and the printer room jumped to over 80 degrees. Since it promises to be another long, hot summer, we need to plan on bringing in some air conditioning to cool this 12 x 12 room down. We have one window that doesn't open. We do have a back...
  14. Updated firmware Designjet L25500

Had a couple of print heads go bad prematurely last night. After replacing the parts on warranty, I was told that the updated 5.0 should alleviate future problems: The latest is 5.00.00.08 and you can update the firmware on your L25500 by downloading it from...

  16. Setting printers IP address in Caldera

I was getting intermittent program errors in Caldera when sending print jobs to my HP L25500. Support had me delete, download and install new drivers. Last note was to make sure to designate printer's IP address in ServerAdmin. How do I do this? I feel like an idiot. Thanks for your help...
  17. Calculating media used, HP L25500

Printing on L25500 with Caldera. During training, I felt like there was a way to see how much media has been used on the current roll. About to start a new print job and want to see if it will fit. Thinking that it shows you the number on the printer panel when the media is unloaded. Is...
  18. Designing 50%, How to RIP?

We designed a large box truck at 50 percent in Illustrator, since we could not make the art board large enough. Now I need to bring it into Caldera. Do I bring it into RIP at 50 percent and print at 200%? Bring into Photoshop, try to maintain vectors, re-size and save as pdf? What is the...
  19. Heat settings 3951RA

Just started printing first panel of two box trucks on 3951RA with our newer HP L25500 with Caldera RIP. Came off the printer and backing paper looks blistered. This is the first time printing on this material / media. Do I have to override heat settings? *UPDATE* Seems like it may have...
