  1. production board...

Happy Friday everyone - It's time we create some sort of production board to keep me on track; moreover, in an effort to delegate more (which has proven to be my greatest weakness...along with procrastination). I would greatly appreciate someone taking the time to snap a photo or share your...
  2. Wraping old exposed brick wall

I hope to attempt to wrap this old brick wall with an vintage pre-war poster inspired panel, measuring 12' x 15'. As you can see, the brick is unpainted and has several gaps and imperfections in the mortar. Do I need to somehow treat the brick before applying vinyl (other than blowing it out...

  5. Roland, 3-year outdoor durability without lamination

Any truth to the claim of 3-year outdoor durability without lamination? I was talking with a guy locally that says he does not laminate anything?!? Seems iffy to me, but I am still a little green. I would be interested to hear others' results. Thanks, GP
  6. Adobe on multiple machines?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I have been reading through the adobe purchase agreement and receipt. Can I download onto a second machine in the office with my single license? Again, sorry for the lame question. I am tired and going cross-eyed to find an easy answer to an easy question...
  7. tools disappear in Illustrator

What key combination do I keep hitting that makes my tool pallet disappear??? Never hit it until today and now I've done it three times... UGH! GP
  8. Small Caps in Illustrator

Is there an easy way to produce small caps in Illustrator. I have been taking a cap and manually reducing the size (which I just learned is called "superscripting"). I finally noticed the reduced stroke width. I guess I can manually increase the stroke on the small caps to match the larger...
  9. Graphtec cutting through completely...

Anyone know what causes this? Just did it again, this time causing one of those Y axis errors and burning about 5 yds of 751. Material is going to be close---UGH! edit---I guess I should have mentioned that it happens intermittently...otherwise, i would just adjust the blade.
  10. settings for cutting Hartco mask

About to start cutting my first sand mask. Anyone care to share their plotter settings. Have a Graphtec CE5000 Seem I have adjusted the blade depth WAY down. Adjusted the force to 16. It is working just OK. Don't really want to risk blowing through a bunch of material. Thanks, GP

  14. Max. Cutting area, CE-5000-60

Heres a dumb question... What is the maximum cutting area for my CE-5000-60. I am laying out a simple 1 color layout for a 18x24 Chloroplast sign. I have 24 inch vinyl. Obviously, I would like to cut these landscape, to minimize waste. But, every time I send the job, i get a "no media"...
  15. joining objects in AI

At the risk of sounding like a complete moron... How do you join two objects of the same color so they do not cut as separate objects? In this instance, I have a black strike through (more or less) running through a vector image. I, of course, want to weld the objects together so this...
  16. Flexi investment...

After considering everyone's generous input and revisiting my business plan (moreover, my budget sheet), I am going to start off learning the business with a Graphtec 7000 cutter, though the 5000 is more in-line with what I have to spend. Any thoughts on this? Seems I will also want to invest...
  17. Printer questions...

Greetings- I am looking into starting my sign business. I have some pretty strong relationships with area realtor/developers, builders and several in the boat sales arena. So, I hope to do some boat lettering, job site signs, trailer and fleet lettering and residential signage (these are my...
