Because that printer needs specific coated media, the selection of available vinyl or banner is small and expensive, as the inks too. Even if laminated, it will not last as long as solvent, Latex or UV-Prints. That printers are meant to print mainly on paper or canvas.

Thanks for your feedback. The best way to have good colors is to create an own ICC-Profile for every media and print mode used. Flexi Subscription has an easy to use ICC-Profiler integrated, only an i1 or other spectrometer is needed.

Do you have resistance too when trying to move the head when the printer is switched off? If yes, it is not a problem of the servo board. These motors could wear out.
