Call a sign company that does this kind of work. If you don't know what you are doing I hope you have GOOD INSURANCE....the sign falls on someone you will be done fore good.

Tell the customer the tank needs re-painted. Sand it off and have it painted, then re-letter. This honestly will give you the best results and I am will to bet will take less time than what you are going to spend trying to not damage the paint, and still have faded and or damaged paint anyways...

I make 4x8's all the time with 0.040 I bend a 1" lip on them and install them on angle brackets, that way screws are not in the face, they are on the top lip and bottom lip, out of site. I also glue foam inside this to get the wave out of it. Pan Box sign is what I call it... something like this...

Flex face, use maroon cooley material. eradicate the letters and apply the tan/beige lettering over that.

Why do sign people try and do shirts...stick to what you know. I see SO MANY hack sign/shirt printers out there putting out garbage like this....If you iron it on it looks like crap. BTW iron on = heat press, same thing!
