  3. Name Ideas anyone?

It's best to avoid industry vernacular and jargon unless you wish to answer tons of time-wasting questions, or you intentionally wish to confuse potential clients. It may also cause them to avoid your services altogether. JB
  4. Name Ideas anyone?

Be sure to allow "room for growth". In other words, don't pin your name down so tightly to one aspect of your business that it hinders you from growth should you find yourself better suited toward other markets. This is especially true when you secure your domain name. Back when dot com...
  5. puppymonkeybaby?

Easy now...it's all in good fun. JB
  6. Making mounting pattern for stud mounted letters

Correct, but they're precision machined to be very accurate...so long as you use the correct tap drill size and there isn't a lot of clearance (slop) between the screw and the hole. We do a lot of bronze plaque mounting and they work exceptionally well for that purpose also. The holder...
  7. Making mounting pattern for stud mounted letters

I was a tool and die maker in another life and I like to use transfer screws like the ones shown here. They thread into the holes and allow you to get the letters within 1/16" of the paper before you press them into the pattern. JB
  8. puppymonkeybaby?

Grandsons are awesome! My daughter has blessed us with a new little one each summer for the past two years...with another one due at the end of September. We're hoping for a girl this time around. JB
  9. Best Way to get new customers?

Believe it or not, there are still customers out there who desire to be courted and that will require time and effort. You have to go out and chase them down. It's not like fishing where you sit around and wait for nibbles. It's more like bear hunting...with a knife...except not as much blood...
  10. No Comment Needed

My guess for the typeface: Delirium Tremens Hand And...I strongly suspect they could freehand Blackadder without a pounce pattern or Mahl stick. JB
  11. No Comment Needed

With the exception of the period after Hawaii, it has perfect spelling and punctuation. What more could you ask? JB

I know a guy that converted an old engine lathe into a slitter, but this also might work: http://www.kurz.de/kurzweb/en/home.nsf/?Open&DirectURL=0F87B591A9C46939C125704D003014BB
  14. Neatdesk alternative?

I don't have room on my desk for one more thing, so I use my desktop scanner/printer and Adobe Acrobat. You can assign metadata to your .pdf files for easy search-ability. JB
  15. Looking for somebody with a Shutterstock account...help please

Image 217689823 It's a rope knot frame isolated on white background. I need the size to be 6870 x 5375 (300dpi / 5.1MB) Obviously, I'll reduce the size since it's better than trying to enlarge a smaller image. Thanks, JB
  16. Looking for somebody with a Shutterstock account...help please

I need just one image from Shutterstock and I don't want to go through the hassle of setting up an account since I don't ever use photos in my line of work (and they don't accept PayPal). The image will be used non-commercially one time (for my mom's funeral program). I don't need it yet, but...
  17. omega 6

That said, then it would make sense to develop some sort of loyalty incentive to reward Gerber owners who use OEM products. JB
  18. omega 6

What, in your opinion, is a "fair" price then? JB
  19. omega 6

Seriously? That's pocket money for the privilege of grabbing onto the teats of a cash cow. After the first pull, it's all profit. JB
  20. omega 6

From Omega 5 to Omega 6 appears to be insanely cheap: $345.00 through Hyatt's online. Other upgrades are relatively attractive as well. We ended up getting a full package of Omega 5 CP for just a fuzz over $800 two years ago when we turned in an old GA dongle that was attached to a Gerber...
