I have a job that I'm thinking about taking on that requires painting a perforated vinyl for a channel letter set. This gets placed over a white vinyl for a day/night effect. Any potential hazards with painting vinyl?
I'm seeing if anyone would be willing to share with me installation instructions for installing channel letters. I would be just using it as a template and pull into into CorelDRAW. Thanks.
I'm doing the UL certification and need to blow off a little steam to not sink deeper into depression. So far, my favorite is having to pay yearly to recertify a scale so that I can perform two different weight tests on signs. I also need to have a yearly certification for a digital calipers...
Dale, I'm very interested on how long jewelite actually will last on a channel letter before it needs to be replaced. Is replacing the faces a common issue?
What are the most common things to have to service on a 2-7 year old set of front lit channel letters with LED modules, removable face with trim cap, and a power supply located inside the building of a section sign?
I'm especially interested in how often the LED modules themselves actually...

I talked with Jerry again this morning. I can fabricate electric signs without being a sign contractor but I need the get certified by UL, MET, or another NRTL.
Thanks for your thoughts Duke and Brad. I did talk with Jerry Daniel at TDLR that explained to me the license requirements. I'm allowed to fabricate an electric sign without being a sign contractor. I cannot give a turn key quote that includes installation by another sign company. I can...
I know a company that bought an ACE and one month later bought a Super Channel Bender from SDS/ AdamsTech. If you want to send me a private message I'll respond with the company name.
I'd make sure and get in writing what Computerized Cutters will charge in order to continue providing technical support. I've been to several companies that replace their old Accubends with an SDS/ AdamsTech benders and end up sending their Accubends to the scrap yard. No resale value.
A lot of the companies that are now buying top of the line SDS Automation (AdamsTech) benders, have one or two older Accubends. One of the reasons some of those companies bought an SDS Super Channel Bender is just because they couldn't get the Accubends to work with .063 aluminum. Most of...
I'm new to this forum but not to sign making. I've been in over 100 sign companies and am knowledgeable about channel letter fabrication and automation especially the SDS (AdamsTech) Channel Bender series of automatic benders, but I'm not sure if I got all my ducks in a row for my new business...
Bradley D checking in for the first time. I am currently doing contract work installing channel letter bending equipment with SDS Automation/ previously SDS/ AdamsTech. I also have recently started a sign company. I fabricate specialty channel letters including resin, stainless steel, resin...
