You say the Aluminum came Vinyled from the Manufacturer... so there is a coating on the aluminum? If so, you might want to try AP2155 instead of the AP3155 - it is better for plastics, PVC, HDPE...
The brittle nature of the cured UV inks also suggests the lamps are too high (the ink is more...
it will do this when dry applied until a few days of heating and contracting from the sun happen. But if someone wet applied then that is likely the problem and it will need to be replaced - you never wet apply perforated window film (even when laminated).
Grimco's Briteline Multigrip sticks to about anything, but it cannot be laminated as it is a rough surface - so you durability is limited by the inks you use.
General Formulations offers several specific vinyls, and I think their Roughmark 285 might be the best choice for this. (You can contact...
I agree that 3M 8508 is junk - Tried the Gloss WrapCast Overlaminate once during Covid and didn't like it, enough so I never bought it again. But I never compared to 8508 as used that once too and didn't like it. But my rep is reliable and I believe the 3M connections and Arlon connection he...
8518 has a polyester liner, so does Briteline Optically Clear WrapCast Overlaminate which is what we use. 8508 has a paper liner and so does Briteline Gloss WrapCast Overlaminate.
Might Consider:
1-Shot 109-L Gold Metallic
Ronan Aqua Leaf colors:
Rich Gold WP109
Real Gold WP18
Inca Gold WP03
If you need it shipped, check with N. Glantz. But always best from a local supplier (we use a local art shop for hard to get colors of paint since they carry these).
3270 is the laminate to use with Arlon SLX, not 3170 - though 3170 has a great price point and is an 8year laminate, it was not designed to be used with cast digital vinyl. 8508 is only 4year and meant for flat areas and simple curves - 8518 is the better laminate and is 8 year. You want really...
I echo what the others have said. Easiest is to feel the thinness of Cast, it is also more shiny than Calendared with the exception of Matte colors. I would never store everything jumbled together - wastes time when looking for exactly what you need for any given job. That said, many creative...
We have a FluidColor R84F Turbo - 4x8 with Ricoh Gen 6 heads and CMYKW. Love the Gen 6 heads: fast, reliable, great print quality. The folks at FluidColor have been great and they even had a training in Kentucky that we sent a guy to. These guys started out reconditioning Flatbed UV printers and...
There is a calibration process too if you cuts are not tight. There was a discussion about this a year or two ago and I posted the Sensor Adjust Cross Hair Pattern. We adjusted ours about 1 year after we got it and it has been on point since.
Looks like you are already putting Contour Cut Marks on in Flexi if able to get the plotter to cut from Flexi. But in case you are not: Choose the graphic to print and plot; make sure your Cut Contour is not Grouped (as sometimes some sections will not cut) and Click the Contour Cut Marks...
We have one and cut directly through Flexi's Production Manager - got the drivers from Graphtec online. This ancient beast is everyone's favorite plotter and it will cut to the very edge of the vinyl if you need to.
We used to use a masking tape that worked really well. Then we got the bright idea to save a few bucks and get a different kind - the new tape would let go before we finished laying things. No one had kept track of what we used to use, so went experimenting with several kinds to find similar...
The buckling is from humidity level and a result of too thin a liner... That said, have you considered General Formulations vinyls - American made quality vinyl. If you want a clear adhesive (no one uses a white adhesive, just clear on white vinyl so the white shows - vinyl adhesive is clear or...
