Not familiar with the durability of HP Latex inks, we use UV and EcoSolvent, but I would use a good UV laminate. I think the 8518 is a 7 year, we usually use Oraguard 290 Gloss which is a 10 year. But in any case, laminate it. I would print onto the IJ180 with a diecut on the lettering and...
We have a Fluid Color UV flatbed and really like it. It was delivered in a large crate in a box truck. The Truck did not match our dock height, so we hired the tow company next door - they used a flatbed tow truck back to back with the box truck to remove the crate, waited while we unboxed the...
Definitely worth your time to take a national class. Learning how to wrap will improve your application skills whether you are wrapping something or not.
A color change on a car would start at $2500 - so a full wrap is not cheap - a printed wrap can go several times this amount. 90% of your...
Looking to find an alternative source for filters for my flatbed printer (Handtop - FluidColor). Looking for Last chance UFO shaped filters, black, Luer-Lock type. Where do you get yours?
Removing the mirrors would have been a good idea. Laying middle stripe first without mask , then other two without mask. Marking the gap distance from middle stripe with a grease pencil every few feet to help hit your mark. Having heat handy - you can fix stretches and some wrinkles (just...
They charge your shop a flat $25 registration fee and include lunch - so if you have 4 people coming you still only pay $25 but you get four lunches... You gotta figure the $25 only helps to cover costs. Combine this with the 10% coupon and it is not really costing you anything but your time. So...
Yes, most of our shop is headed there. Since they are not charging $25 per person, but per shop, that only helps pay for the free lunch... ad the coupon, and it is a great deal
You get color problems like this sometimes when you design in CMYK but add a RGB element - with the items joined/grouped - the rip software sometimes has issue with interpreting the colors as the same. check to see what Color Modes you are using and , if possible, try to be sure you have the...
Never ran a Mimaki but, if it helps, we get this on our flatbed if one color has an air bubble or if negative pressure needs adjustment. On our Roland Soljet XR640, if we get this then we run again at High Quality with Unidirectional on.
3951RA or ProSlide would have been a better choice than 3551 for this job. But when laying something like this you have to squeegee differently. No up and down or the material tunnels and has no where to go. Center hinge can work to position and start, but you only wantt o do a few inches in the...
We UV print on reflective coated aluminum panels all the time. Most colors still reflect. Personally I prefer the look of Solvent printed reflective vinyl, but both work.
As far as not printing on mirrors, the main thing is don't look at the light reflected out while printing - that can blind...
We like to off gas for two hours. That said, we have been pressed before and what we have done is let the print air out until the position marks are no longer tacky (black, so has heavy ink). Have not had a failure yet.
If I understand you, I think you are trying to do away with overlapping cuts. If so, when you send to CutContour, go to the third tab, the plotter knife with a + symbol, and select the box that says "Eliminate line segment overlap."
