1. When doing regular contour cutting with OPOS, you are asked to place the knife tip above the first marker. It is different when using OPOS Barcode, in this case you need to place the knife tip below/in front of the barcode. It is shown on the cutter display. Have you pay attention to it? It...
Because of the SP300/SP300V does not check the ink type with the chips, it looks like that your printer have just a wrong setting. It doesn't matter what ink is really set to the printer, the printer can't recognize it.
There is an "Ink Type"-Setting on your printer ... what does this show...
Because of the heat the latex cures with a bowing effect could appear, a little bow distortion on the front of the print. The only plotter wo could compensate that is a summa with OPOS X (XY-compensation, S-Class since 2005 or summacut since 2007). Other plotters could have accuracy issues when...
To have maximum color consistence between different Printers, you should use a RIP with the ability for CMYK-Emulation. In this case, the printers won't be calibrated to their maximum colour gamut, but for a color space all printers can achieve, for example by emulating ISOCoated or such. GMG...
SAi publishes Service Packs with new drivers, new features and bugfixes often. Flexi 11 was published in 2012, up to 2015 when Flexi 12 was released there are 6 Service Packs available for Flexi 11, for free. There are updaters for Flexi 12 too until now. Only major upgrades are not free .. a...
Onyx is a RIP-Software only. Nobody I know uses it for vinyl cutting jobs. Flexi have a lot of interesting designing features for vinyl jobs.
Which version of Flexi do you have tested? Since 10.5, the RIP-Engine should handle transparencies without problems (when loading files directly into...
The Printer does not base on the 25500, it bases on the 26500 (second Generation). And, in difference to these, it have a completely different stand, Roll-off and roll-up, power supply, user Interface, slightly different print modes.
We had good results with avery surface cleaner. We scratch the surface of the ink with a plastic squeeze (do not damage the belt) before. And, of course, cleaning the belt on a regular basis.
@ Kentucky Wraps:
If you feel more secure with a technology of an older origin, you are free to use that technology. But for example, early adopter of an Epson Eco-Solvent in 2013 (proven technology from a technology leader) would have regretted quickly. And I know people who regrets to buy a...
Every of that technologies are under continued development. Why the eco-solvent inks have switched to a second generation in 2003, a third in 2006, a forth last year and so on? Do you know the improvements Roland have made with the Soljet Pro III (2006) because of known issues with the Pro II...
Advantages of Roland over HP:
Bigger variety of models (small ones, print & cut, metallic and white)
Depending of the model smaller dots, sharper edges

Advantages of HP over Roland:

This is written in the manual:
"The wiper roller foam does not last indefinitely and should be replaced after extended use. The printer tracks the length of substrate wiped by the roller, and displays a warning when replacement is due."
Only the gear is permanent, not the foam around. Wiper...
@ AF:
Don't be irritated. I agree that regularly you might think that 400% is needed, but at the latex I think (not shure) that the number is an average per ink channel.
The list isn't correct.
The unit we have currently available for testing (owned by HP switzerland) have up to 80% (not 70%) ink limit for 4 Passes, and 120% (instead of 100%) for 8 Passes. There are additional "vivid" modes available with 12 Passes and higher. But the firmware of this machine...
