  1. Drawing a track map for vinyl sign

I have spent many happy days at Road America and Elkhart Lake over the years. I rarely miss the Vintage race weekends- and sport a 'Remember when Racing was Fun' decal on my cars with the Can-Am Challenge Cup logo. Used to see all the top guns in the sports car world at Donnybrook Raceway...
  2. How many times do you forget about the take up reel (before it's too late)?

I was just thinking about this yesterday, actually. Does it look anything like this?
  3. Anyone else been extorted?

I resemble that insult. Thank you so very much. Gene :noway:
  4. VS540 vs a SP-540i

One of my suppliers was parting out an old Roland for the rollers- the rest is 80/20 extrusions. Works great BTW
  5. VS540 vs a SP-540i

The RF640 (which we have) is a VS without an onboard (contour) cutter and with dual cmyk cartridges. The head is more expensive but it is much faster and has a better media handling system... with certain limitations. It takes longer to load and reload the media- my solution, as we use 90% one...
  6. VP540i VP300i Owners...

We ran a VP540 hard for 5 years and it was rock solid. Replaced one cyan head in that time and cleaned no more often than every two weeks... I would say that every four weeks was more average. The shot counts and hours were enormous when we sold it for almost half of the new price. We used...

  8. How do you price vinyl lettering?

What it comes down to is you have to figure out what your unit cost needs to be so you can eat three times a day, pay your bills and have a warm place to sleep. I would also add a little something to insure a fun, exciting and extended retirement. It sneaks up on you faster than you would...
  9. Thin Sheets That Work On Roll Digital Printers (Roland)?

Exactamundo. I was questioning the spelling of milliliter BTW it makes my old eyes chatter. :pops_blinking:
  10. Thin Sheets That Work On Roll Digital Printers (Roland)?

We do too- altho it is 10 mil... not milliliter (that does not look correct, but I checked it). :Big Laugh
  11. Color settings VS-640

Check my thread- http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?124522-More-issues-with-Versaworks-and-Roland-spot-colors and see if it is what you are experiencing. I am working with Roland tech thru my local tech on this problem now. And it does seem to be the darker colors. They sent me a...
  12. How does 540x720 differ from 720x720?

I have never understood how this works (360x720, 540x720, 1440x720 for instance). How do these differ from 360x360, 720x720 etc. I am trying to resurrect my old i1 pro (it actually did the diagnostic test fine- the resurecting would be digging the old info out of my brain). Thanks Gene
  13. Another reason not to trust the government

Shouldn't we talk about Jade Helm 15? I ain't goin' to no abandoned walmart!!! :noway:
  14. Still more issues with VersaWorks and RVW spot colors

The correct cmyk is the library colors- for some reason VW is changing the mix of colors. This happens sporaticly- I am suspecting that the program may be corrupted. I have been fixing this on a case by case basis but will spend the time to reload the prog on the weekend and see if that helps...
  15. Still more issues with VersaWorks and RVW spot colors

So... some spots are sent to the printer wrong as below: Notice the difference between Library output and printer output
  16. Recycling Your Waste

Banner material is pvc. Coroplast is polypropylene. Gaba- my supplier will not take 54" so we cut them into 24 & 30" and they are happy to take them. Gene
  17. Recycling Your Waste

My renter got a recycling dumpster and we may have to have it picked up twice a month instead of the current once. Paper waste, cardboard, cans, bottles most plastics (it is one sort). It really takes the load off our once a week dumpster and way cheaper- $40 a month I think. If we fill our...
  18. More issues with Versaworks and Roland spot colors

Picked a spot from our chart and got a completely different color... so started poking around in the file format section and then the spot color detail section and noticed this: (Pict) The Library Output is correct but the printer output is quite different. I have been checking different...

  20. Font identification, por favor

The font id section of my brain is shrinking now that I don't use them on a regular basis. Thanks Gene
