I have the same problem with my Edge LE,FX,GSX Plus Plotter.........I think that is a common problem with Gerber Edge Technologic.....there is not solution for that, is not accurate. Best Regards.

Buy a old laptop with XP(with parallel&serial port) and you can use your equipment without problems. The beeps from the plotter is because there is not connection with the computer, do not worry about it.

Any beep? Take off the front cover and check the "earth wire" is possible that you display does not show nothing because the "eart wire" has not a good contact. Best Regards.

The printhead is the same for both models, Gerber1 & Gerber2 and Trunion(and I think that fx is the same also), only the Voltage is different. Regards.

Aaah and a very important note, the "earth" connection is vital for any electronic equipment, a lot of fails about of "bad earth connection" on the electronics devices, check it.
