  1. Your drug of choice?

Mucinex is a overpriced marketing gimmick. The active ingredient in Mucinex is guaifenesen. Robitussin DM also contains guaifenesen at about half the price. See if your pharmacy stocks Robitussin DAC; that one has guaifenesen and codeine. It's OTC up to 4oz in a 48 hr period. 20 years as a...
  2. SEAL Base Laminator Not heating up.

The top roller gets hot on my Base54. It only gets to around 100 degrees.
  3. Material for trade show displays

Intelicoat makes a 12mil aquious polycarbonate that you can reverse print then lay a white vinyl adhesive backer (which they also make) over the back. We used to use this when we had our dye based Epson, I don't think it works with pigmented inks. We do a ton of TS panels. If all you need is 3...
  4. Breaking News!!!

Should read "53 Eagles found dead in Philadelphia immediately following a wounded duck falling into cheesy hands"
  5. It's so cold!!!.....

I've got a storefront window set to wrap tomorrow, but if it stays this windy they're gonna have to wait a day or two.
  6. Conflicts with Versaworks

Sounds like you have transparency issues. Certain Illustrator effects don't get interpreted well by Versaworks. Are you getting ghost lines around objects? Can you post a picture?
  7. Seal Base 54 vs new EL

Stay away from the Base 54 - get a Base 62 if you can. The 54 doesn't have the ability to add roll to roll (Seal refuses to make a retrofit) and the backing take up system is terrible compared to the 62 (again Seal won't make a retrofit)
  8. Estimate is only monthly?

I've found that most wide format quote systems vastly under charge for large quantities of small items (stickers, magnets, etc) I use Estimate and I ended up setting up a template just for small items.
  9. Estimate is only monthly?

We've used Estimate from the beginning (and are still using V2, bugs and all) They went subscription only on the last release and we're shopping for a new system because of it.
  10. Wish List

I'd just like to be in my new space by Christmas.
  11. Laminator poll

I have a Seal Base 54 but I think I'm going to ditch it and get a Base 62 or a Seal Pro 62 so I can do roll to roll.
  12. Banner weld

The media does make a huge difference with welders. Some vinyls just don't produce a good seam when welded, although in your case it sounds like the vendor screwed the pooch. I've done quite a few seams longer than 40' and not had a problem with my Triad. That being said, the Triad isn't...
  13. Banner weld

No, like i said I have a Triad, I couldn't justify the Miller based on my production when I bought the Triad, but if I stay this busy I'll invest in a Miller vs another Triad. I like my Triad just fine, but it's not in the same league as the Miller if you actually use them every day, it's more...
  14. Banner weld

If a small fleet is 2, then you are correct. BTW I have a Triad, what do you production seam with?
  15. Banner weld

There is a huge difference between the Leister and the Triad. The Leister is a hot air system and the Triad is a contact wedge welder. The Leister is fine for non precision work like seaming tarps and such, but it's really slow for a production tool when you've got 20 banners to get out today...
  16. VP540 - **HELP** Magenta marks in print

I had this exact problem on my XC540 when it was first installed - random magenta lines randomly on prints. It was a bad main board. Had to go through 2 to get a good one.
  17. Welders - who uses them?

We have a Sinclair Triad wedge welder - great seams and pole pockets , but it's a little slower then sewing yet faster and cleaner than taping.
  18. Do you hem all sides of banner?

Weld all side, sew & reinforce on request.
  19. Laminators

Another Seal fan - Mount 4x8's all day long without a hitch.
  20. Are you superstitious at work?

If I'm trying to close on a Friday I'll be swamped on Wednesday with rush jobs.
