they aren't a hoax, active carbon removes voc's and other contaminants.
im in the process of sourcing carbon at the moment. my filter guy wants $1500 for a small box of charcoal and some fibre mesh... please....
whatever you get, make sure the consumables arent $1500 a hit...
isnt it possible to put together a box with some extractors, fill it with active carbon and replace the carbon once a month or so? probably cost you a few hundred if that?
It can be done in excel as a background.
Before proceeding any further, email him this thread link and show him how much of how many peoples' time he's wasting.
Thanks Castek. I had always left it at default (v2) so never had a problem I guess.
I might try it on v4 and see if it works or not and report back to let you know.
Cheers
That's intriguing - I'm going to try reprofiling a profile today. By the way, previously you said to aim for a grey which is on the brown side. When printing a patch of equal CMY.
Would you be able to specify a PMS-C colour which is close to what you mean? Am I looking at something like PMS...
Thanks eye4clr. That all made sense surprisingly and I gave it a shot.
Am I right in interpreting "as it gets to 1.0" as "stop as close as possible to 1.0? For example, if it's 0.8 @ 95% but 1.3 @ 90%, go for 0.8 @95% because it's closer to 1.0 than 1.3?
One more question... in Eye-One...
Never tried any IP products before. Will keep an eye out.
I did try an Aslan gloss before, and it was dam glossy to be honest - even their monomeric gloss lam is pretty glossy. It's a little different - reverse wound, and the liner is very thin. That's the closest I've seen yet.
I'm wondering if there's a polymeric laminate out there which is as glossy as the 3M high gloss cast lam (the one with the clear liner).
So far I haven't come across any, but thought I'd ask... anyone?
I've used avery mpi 2000 with success on walls, but the problem is (as already stated), that you just can't tell all the time because each wall is prepped differently.
So far, the only vinyl I would be comfortable "guaranteeing" is arlon8000. Yes it will destroy the wall though lol. It also...
Oops! Sorry I was in a rush and didn't read properly :banghead:
Thanks so much, I went searching and got the measure component for free from the xrite site. Working ok.
I'm now in the spot measurement module (screenshot attached), and "referenced" black 100 from my VW generated Lin. Chart...
Ok, I got i1 share to work on my W7 machine :)
This is what I can see when I "evaluate" 2 colours.
I don't see anything like Lch... is this info in my screenshot NOT what I'm looking for?
Cheers!
Thanks Castek,
I'll look into what I can d/l to measure... there was a software that came bundled, called i1 share... which measured spot colours, however this doesn't seem to work for me on my new Win7/64 machine. (I remember it worked on my xp).
My i1 is a i1extreme/uvcut (discontinued...
Thanks mate that makes more sense to me than "pick the best %". The T value in VW... seems to be some sort of a density value... I'm guessing a small change in that will also indicate a low delta E variance, therefore to limit it there?
Thanks Bly,
We're talking about the Linearisation step yeah? In my current workflow, this is done in VW. When you say I should restrict inks by chroma, does this mean it can't be done in VW?
The Lin. procedure in VW is as posted above... you print out your inks at 100%, and choose the %...
