I'm trying to decide what should be my standard media for wraps and high performance signage. Is there a difference in ease of installation between the IJ180C and IJ180Cv3? It LOOKS like IJ180C would be easier to install because the air channels look really big. Is that true?
I just purchased a 55" RS Laminator. It's on the truck and headed this way. My salesman told me that everyone is using 54" media for doing wraps so I thought nothing of purchasing the 55" laminator. However, I just noticed that on my 2002 Dodge 2500, the depth of my hood on the edges pushes 57"...
Can you remote monitor the L25500 and L26500. I thought I heard that somewhere that you can have it notify you if you are running low on ink or media. Is that true? For both machines?
That is really good to know! I used to use Flexi PhotoPrint to run my old solvent printer and cutter. So, I'd probably be pretty familiar with that already. Do you consider Signlab better? Grimco (my main supplier) wants me to get Onyx, but it's more expensive than Flexi and I'm unfamiliar with it.
ProColorGraphics - Thanks for that information! I would have to swap out my cartridges in less than 1.5 rolls :( I was thinking of using Flexi for the RIP. That's what I used when I had a solvent printer and I really liked it. I'll look into Caldera though.
Ursta Graphics - Thank you also for...
Been running 3M SC-50. Has worked well since I had the machine, but the last 2 rolls had deep pits in them which the thermal cannot print into. Also, tried Summa's blend of intermediate and it was even worse. Big chunks of white it would not print too :(
The 3M Premium that Summa sell's it...
Hey Guys!
I would like to hear your feedback.
So, I've been using a Summa DC4sx this last year as my main printer. However, a few things have come up that are making me seriously consider a Latex printer right now. 90% of the work in our shop is printed decals and vehicle graphics. I...
My fingers are very very sore this morning. Don't worry, I used a mask and a gloves :) Still waiting to hear back from the customer on how they wanted to proceed. I probably have a good 300+ sq/in left and last night it took me an hour to do 10 sq/in!!!!
I've advised them to have their own...
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried he Xylol idea for about an hour this evening. I was only able to get about 8-10 sq/in in about 1 hours time. There are a good 300+ sq/in left. I sent them an email this evening informing them of everything to see how they would like me to proceed.
Thanks for...
Yes, I'm hourly on this :)
This is on a very very nice Dodge pickup... some I'm trying to be cautious. But ya, it's been miserable so far. :(
Thanks for your help!
A customer hired me to remove vehicle wrap graphics since they sold their truck. A different sign company in town did this wrap and they used Arlon. One side came off fairly clean, but the other side is coming off horribly. It's like the adhesive and the truck have become one and it will not...
I figured the $4k to at least include design. And I'm not completely set on the price yet. I just know that after underbidding a few of these in the past, I'm more proned to bid a little higher and do good work.
Here is the van. Old and dried out :)
Hey Guys,
I have a customer that wants to have their 1986 Ford Econoline wrapped. From what I can tell, it's been in the sun it's entire life and there is no paint left. Would you dare wrap something like that? So far everything I've wrapped has had a decent glossy paint job surface.
I'm...
Thanks for your reply! When I mentioned the idea to one of the tech's they seemed to not like the idea. But my sales guy told me he has customers that do it.
