  1. The next step...an employee

    Ya, that makes sense.
  2. The next step...an employee

So, I've been pondering the idea of an employee for a while, but I'm not sure in which area of my shop. Out of Sales, Production Manager, Installer, and Graphic Designer, I feel like a graphic designer has the most demand in our shop and would be the easiest to come by. It would free up a lot of...
  3. HP L26500 Blurring

That totally makes sense! I noticed that the second time it happened that the temp was at 150+... pretty hot!
  4. HP L26500 Blurring

Hmmm.... maybe me doing an alignment and it working was just a coincedence. Maybe it was just a problem with a bad profile, not actually out of alignment? I'll probably send a picture to my tech and see what he thinks.
  5. HP L26500 Blurring

I THINK it was caused by an improper profile slipping in there. Sometimes Flexi decides to use a profile other than my default on new jobs... I just need to watch for it.
  6. HP L26500 Blurring

Print head alignment seemed to do the trick :)
  7. HP L26500 Blurring

Hey all! I've just had my L26500 about a week now and I'm loving it. However, this evening, I'm running a bunch of decal jobs and this just started happening (see attached). The blurring is at the very beginning of the decal job and then cleans up pretty quickly. Right before it started...
  8. Cruise ship wrap

We do very much love living here :) The only bad part about living here is that we don't have anywhere to vacation to! ;)
  9. Cruise ship wrap

    I ran. Thanks guys!
  10. Cruise ship wrap

That is a good point. That did go through my mind. I should probably just put $100k on it, see if I get it ;)
  11. Cruise ship wrap

So... the resort in my town does a pirate cruise every year and they want me to bid the job. The wrap is all banner material, held on by velcro. They reuse the prints for 3 years and then reprint. There is roughly 1950 sq/ft of banner and about 100 sq/ft of actual adhesive vinyl to fill in where...
  12. IJ180C vs 3751RA

What would your recommendation be? 80% of our business is printed decals on intermediate vinyl, so my fear is that we don't do enough high-performance vinyl production to justify carrying multiple cast vinyls... what do you think? And if 3751RA is overkill, what is a cheaper digital cast that...
  13. IJ180C vs 3751RA

Gotcha. My goal is to make as much money on as few medias as possible :) Keep things simple and keep my overhead low. :)
  14. IJ180C vs 3751RA

Do people still use the Oracal 3751 for non-wrap applications? Seems like people use IJ180C for just about everything. I don't see why you couldn't use 3751 for everything also, but I was just curious :)
  15. IJ180C vs 3751RA

Thank you. That makes sense :)
  16. IJ180C vs 3751RA

What is it about the 3751 that makes experienced wrappers love it? Why wouldn't experienced wrappers love more user friendly wraps? Wouldn't easy = time = money? Thanks for your feedback!
  17. IJ180C vs 3751RA

I'd say that thread is enough to make me want to stick with IJ180C for now :)
  18. IJ180C vs 3751RA

Gotcha... so maybe I don't want to use this as my standard high-performance vinyl if it's a sign or some project that I'm likely to screw up? ;) Would you use it on signs?
  19. IJ180C vs 3751RA

So, I was just about determined that IJ180C would be my new shop cast/wrap vinyl but I keep reading about people loving Oracal 3751RA for their wrap film. If it's equal or better to IJ180C, it's worth the savings. However, if it's harder to work with and can cause problems then the savings are...
  20. Wrapping a Truck Hood

Ya, I wasn't thinking. I had it in my brain that the only thing I would be printing at 60" would be things that I wouldn't be laminating :) But now I'm actually curious if a 60" media would cover some of these new hoods... I should go to a dealer and do some measurements. If a 60" laminator...
