Posting a pic would be helpful. However, if it is a defined magenta line then it sounds like your magenta head might be out of alignment. Overspray usually doesn't show up in a uniform pattern or line.
You may want to eliminate plasticizer migration in your media before doing too much else. 3M rarely has this problem but it can happen to any vinyl as it ages.
Wipe one side of the media down with IPA (any type of cloth/rag can be used) and then print your file. If the side wiped with IPA...
Nothing in the 7800 ink train is made from solvent-resistant material. Even putting eco-solvent inks in this machine is going to be disastrous. Take Jesse's advice to sell it and put a down payment on a solvent machine.
+1 on the head alignments. You're going to need to do the manual adjustments like tbaker said. I don't think there is any way the electronic adjustments will get those back in line.

Any of you techs out there have the head alignment tools/jigs for the HP 9000 / Seiko CP 64s printers? If you have these send me a PM or reply to thread.
We are using Wasatch and I don't have the version number handy. There definitely is some communication issue between the computer and the printer. I'm guessing it is the SCSI drivers or maybe the SCSI card itself. We exhausted just about all ideas (ASPI, card driver, etc) yesterday.

You're going to need a cast vinyl to do vehicle wraps and cast vinyls for aqueous machines are few and far between. Plus, the costs of the aqueous vinyls are probably going to price you out of the market if you're competing against someone using solvent inks.
If you have any indoor work the...
Non-OEM inks have a bad stigma surrounding them due to low-quality products from suppliers just trying to make a quick buck. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on this subject. This debate will go on and on. But, there is a reason why Nazdar and our largest competitors have been...
