Sweet idea. What program is she using to compose? (Photoshop, AI or Indesign?) It looks like a perfect way to share photos with family and friends.
  2. 1k misprinted business cards

I would reduce them to ashes immediately. There's a time to be frugal, and this surely isn't one of them.
  3. Light Table...

Tilt it upright, in the easel position. Replace the bulbs with full spectrum lamps. Throw down some sand on the floor. Pull up a few lawn chairs. Plop one of those cute little umbrellas in a favorite drink. Sit back and wait for the mail man to bring the checks from those...
  4. How do I bevel text in Illustrator? Please help...

Already tried that...doesn't work. I've found that it's impossible to put less than a 1pt. bevel on an edge. Anything more seems to self-intersect...bummer.
  5. Vinyl lettering on dumbbells

I would cut stencils out of paint mask or vinyl and spray paint them. Use your same text, leave ample border around it and weed the letters and paint. They'll last a lot longer. Case closed.
  6. Hard Drive Recovery

    Owieeeeeee!
  7. Signlab 8.0 dongle problems

Sometimes it will throw up an error saying that it can not find the license files even after re-booting the system. Simply open the drive (dongle) and drag and drop the license files into an open a window of SignLab and they will re-set. I've had to do this several times over the past...

  10. Am i crazy or is this shop low balling?

Owosso offers teflon coating is available for their kiss-cut dies. Royster- sweet video, they're moving a lot of vinyl in an hours time, for sure.
  11. Am i crazy or is this shop low balling?

Complexity of the artwork does NOT factor into the cost of the die. They strictly go by square inches of the die, and they're acid etched. They have their price list on their web site. Overall the die cost is a very small piece of the pie in terms of what you can do with it. I've done...
  12. Am i crazy or is this shop low balling?

Are these "dealer" decals that go on the deck lid or rear bumper of a car? If so, they may be thermal kiss-cut. If that's the case, there's no way you can compete with them using a plotter, and they may not be low balling. They use a heated die to barely touch the surface of the vinyl...
  13. Hacked by Dos-Dz Team

Anybody know about hacked web pages? I just visited a friend's site and it had a "Hacked by Dos-Dz Team" page displayed. I did a search on Google, and a lot of listings appear (hacked pages), but no information about who / what it is. Obviously, the site was breached. Any...
  14. What does a urban feel mean?

Don't forget to throw in some rusty man hole cover effects.
  15. Serif font

Looks like something from the Trajan family, but I've seen that "R" somewhere else.
  16. anyone have install trucks here?

Those who come to the forum, who aren't really in this line of business. Typically their main purpose is to extract enough information to become a hobbyist and then go on to lowball their corner of the world. (See membership rules for the exact wording)
  17. anyone have install trucks here?

Just thought I'd start out with something mild to see how you react. It can get pretty harsh around here sometimes, but that usually pertains to gold diggers who are not industry professionals.
  18. anyone have install trucks here?

Abolutely nothing wrong with that. Easy there, you're treading on thin ice. Overall, this forum is comprised of a great bunch of professionals and talk like that is grounds for an arse chewing.
  19. drilling into pebble aggregate

Center punch and then use a smaller drill to make a pilot hole before using the drill size you need. Use a rotary hammer drill (SDS-spline drive) instead of a hammer drills that use a regular 3-jaw chuck. They have more power and the drills are a lot tougher.
  20. Watermarks

I just import my logo, adjust the opacity to where it's just visible through the proof and then export as a jpeg.
