is there still a market for this sort of thing? I've been playing with casting resins lately and that coupled with a CNC carving could be doable, using mica powders to metallize it.
might be worth looking into a used/cheap infrared flash dryer from screen printing. That and some ACM or aluminum sheet could easily make you a decent inline oven. Maybe couple with a PID temperature controller of some sort. I like where this is heading.
I wound up finding a forstner bit in my kit that did a surprisingly good job of it. Did a stack of them with waste on the bottom and they came out great. Happy parts were delivered to happy client yesterday and a check was placed in my greedy paws. Win.
Let me ask you a couple questions about it - I'm going to be putting the holes in 2 corners. My plan WAS to set up a 2-sided, right angle fence on my drill press and just shove the piece into the corner of that block, drop the hole, flip over for the second one and then move on to the next one...
Just what the title says. I couldn't find a consensus with the (lousy) search feature here. Gotta put some 3/16" holes in the corners of a bunch of small ACM "plaques" to hang on a big sponsor board, so don't really want something that's going to make me have to de-burr all the holes if I can...
I sent him a message to see if he's interested and wanting me to pass along his contact info. Will let you know. He's a dude I've known online for a bunch of years and met in person a couple of times. Pretty solid, keeps his word, fairly mechanically minded, etc. so even though he's probably...
If you don't wind up finding someone on here, LMK. I know a guy about an hour away that may be able to help. He's not in the industry but I'd bet you could talk him through it ahead of time if you get desperate.
Don't forget you don't have to mix up a large batch initially when doing a color match. When I'm doing a custom color of gunkote, I'll start my mixing sometimes in drops, occasionally in milliliters using pipettes. Find your ratio and then upscale it. May occasionally need slight tweaking at...
I had to refurbish a push-through for a church a couple years ago. It was clear with white on the facing of the letters and they edge-painted the stand-out letters blue. It was quite stunning when it was new. But about 6 years later when I got to it, the vinyl had shrank away from the edges...
freetone is put out by Stuart Temple and available as an add-on library for adobe products if one wished to go that route. It has a remarkable similarity to pantone colors

My honest first impression was "oh my that is REALLY REALLY BUSY". From a visual standpoint, you're trying to fit too much in which makes me not want to bother reading ANY of it. Just my dos centavos.
you know how if you get a dust speck there's a spot around it where the laminate isn't stuck down and it makes a little pocket? Silvering kinda looks like that but without the speck in the middle. It's just an area where the adhesive hasn't fully "wetted out" adhering to the surface below. It...
