  1. Averege $/hr for wrapper in the US

+1... Creative french canadian but no talent for business management & closing sales (the last 5 years of my 25 years career tend to proove that...)
  2. Averege $/hr for wrapper in the US

Jeez Colorado... you work next to a parking lot... :Big Laugh
  3. A couple fonts I can't figure out...

I have this one which I think is in the same neighborhood...
  4. Reflective Vinyl

'Never heard of 5100 serie before so I looked at all my color charts / litterature coming from 3M and still no sign of it. 'Must be a US product not available over here in Canada. Our distributors only stock 3200 and 680 series for the most.
  5. The next most overused font?

Tyrant, if you like StreetScript, you might also like, from the same designer: http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/schizotype/ollie/ http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/schizotype/gelato-script/ I'll personnally invest on GelatoScript :thumb:
  6. $15 bucks.......................... wha....................

A large chain over here have seen the employees get unionized. They hoped for better paycheck and they got it! They got 2% raise while their union affiliation costed 'em 3% (yes, they're now paid less than before being -1%). Bravo... On the other hand, regarding profitability and earning...
  7. Reflective Vinyl

+1 I don't layer vinyls or reflective anymore since I have a printer. You save on time, material, waste and jobs move out faster. I'm pretty sure you can find a place to outsource it in a decent price range.
  8. Reflective Vinyl

Few big rivets or a sh**load of 'em every 2" ? If it's only a reasonnable quantity of 'em, cut 'em one-by-on to avoid release (tenting). I use 5600 for about a decade with great results. It's my all-around, everyday reflective. I can use it for cut-letters as well as printing media. 'Never...
  9. Need help with gradient for wrap

'Just looked at the picture... it's a pretty job but obviously, done with paint. If you want to get a bit of magic in your print, once you've set the colors, try to print it on pearlescent or ultra-metallic film (white). As our inks are translucent, you'll get a nice effect shining through...
  10. Need help with gradient for wrap

Like you say... 'contacted the guy and replied he has no plan to move it on Window platform. Luckily for me, I have both at work but it's a waste of time having to create the gradient in PC, tranfert it in the Mac, do the things in Vectoraster, save it as EPS, tranfert it back in the PC to...
  11. Need help with gradient for wrap

Maybe the car he saw was PAINTED... inkjet technology has some limitations. For example, if you do a gradient from black to red, it will result in a weird color shift in the middle. You won't see it on screen but it will look terrible on the print. If you paint it with automotive paint...
  12. Single vehicle outline

Art Station does, and it works great. I have the 2009 DVD and I'm getting individual templates from time-to-time for newer vehicles.
  13. Air Egress Vinyl and Using Transfer Tape...

In another thread, someone said he's using 3M SCPS-55 with success on air-egress liner so I bought a roll but haven't tried it yet. I'm a long-time user of SCPM-3 and will stick to 3Ms as much as possible because the transfert are premium. 'Just hop the 55 is compatible with digital media...
  14. Use of Logos on window art for the back of pickup windows?

Well... depending on your overloaded schedule, you may turn 'em down but over here, I welcome that kinda job. I sell 'em $265 and never got the "way too expensive" face so I keep on doing it. I don't print H-D logos however, only my customers' compagnies design (logo). They prefer the...
  15. Vinyl for well vinyl

Use a high tack one. Here I have tested Avery MPI 2600 and Oracal 3105HT with success. They're both very aggressive.
  16. why have I been using medium tack premask all these years?

Usually 7725 worked great for me but then I recall I had a roll of 24" white that was just "unusable" because too hard to pull. In general, what I like about the 7725 is the fact you can cut very small caracters w/o issue and for multi-layers logo, the registration is easier as the liner isn't...
  17. why have I been using medium tack premask all these years?

'Will get mine next week. 'Hope it's gonna work well with my liners (few different brands). 'Ever tried the SPCS-44x ? ('just seen it on 3M website). I use almost exclusively 3M SCPM-3 for over 2 decades... except for few rolls harder to pull from time to time, I'm plently satisfied...
  18. Clear Air Release Vinyl

I use Oracal products for a decade now and have made few contacts at headquarter along the years. Once I've spoke to a guy in R&D dept and asked why the hell they never released their 3951 clear with RapidAir. I wanted to print a full wrap for my GrandCaravan but still see the metallic of the...
  19. why have I been using medium tack premask all these years?

ND will call you in a minute... they get it back :Big Laugh
