  1. Flexi-Sign...who uses it? Poll??

I have both and everything is exported to flexi before rip and print. Wasn't aware I could print strait from Illustrator? Could you please explain the process, what do you use for your rip?
  2. Here is a Sign Company You Can Trust

yes, but it would be kinda nice if I could buy all my supplies at lowes or home depot. Can I get a rattle can in matte black or is it a special order?
  3. Here is a Sign Company You Can Trust

Yes, I actually thought it was a joke until I saw the changeable copy. This place is obviously legit. lol
  4. Here is a Sign Company You Can Trust

Thanks for the laugh... that's too much. Reminds me of a fish market across the street from my shop. They put up a sign with some stick on letters. They attempted an arc that's so crooked it’s hard not to smile every time I look at it. I've contemplated giving them some free lettering...
  5. Fellers

Great points by all... We purchace all of our sheet goods and aluminum tubing from a local distributer. They are great, free next day over $100.00, but they don't carry everything we require when it comes to print media, ink's and vinyls. I also find myself wondering about the "freshness" of...
  6. Fellers

Anyone recieve the new fellers catalog yet? No dramatic changes, although prices have risen a few cents per sq. ft. Does anyone recieve a set discount from fellers or just price match discounts? My first attempt at a price match got me transfered to a different rep who failed to get back...
  7. flexi-mutoh dilemma

If your test print is ok... Order some Oracal 3165RA, pretty good starter media. (Don't waste your time with anything cheaper.) While you’re waiting for it to come in, download the matching icc media profile from the Oracal website. Unzip and follow the installation instructions. There...
  8. Overlapping Laminate

They're not exactly "My Methods", that's way I was asking for input. I use Oracal 3850 which is a calandered translucent. I'm going to take them somewhere to be laminated, thanks for everyones help in the matter.
  9. Overlapping Laminate

I have been told that using application fluid inbetween a print and laminate is not good for the life of the print? I figured the lap would show up because of the matte finish. I'm going to shop around for a better price. Just didn't expect someone to charge so much. Hell I even asked...
  10. Overlapping Laminate

Can I overlap matte finish calendar laminate? I want to use two 30" pieces of laminate overlapped about an inch on a print that approx 50" X 40". It's for a backlit sign and no I don't want to use clear shield or frog juice. My Laminator has been down (won't turn on) for about a week now...
  11. Anybody following HBO's 24/7?

Lifelong Bruins fan but will say that it's entertaining and very well done. Nice to see what goes on behind the scenes.
  12. Mutoh new ink disaster

lol... It appears that the foil is the same, but I'm also worried about the ink variations that have been discussed in this and other posts?
  13. Reflective printable banner

I didn't laminate, but again they were only up a few months. I would skip the laminate just because of time/cost effectiveness. If a few get damaged you could always replace them. I guess it really depends on the application and your client.
  14. Reflective printable banner

We've done some small reflective banners. Overlaid standard pre-grommeted banner material with printed with 3M IJ680CR-10. They held up well for the few months they were in use. Never heard of actual reflective banner material. The 3M IJ680CR-10 isn't as stiff as other non-printible...
  15. Mutoh new ink disaster

It covers everything but the contacts, basically there is a little window cut out for the contact. There is also a bunch of Japanese’s writing on them. I will post a picture tomorrow, just left the shop for the day.
  16. Mutoh new ink disaster

No, actually I haven't used the new cartridges yet... I did a search before I posted thanks
  17. Mutoh new ink disaster

Sorry to hear about all the problems some of you guys are having. I think everyone has, to some extent, experienced the nauseating feeling we get when something goes terribly wrong with our printers. No one wants to lose customers, waste time or throw away money. I have read this entire...
  18. Printed Channel Letter Faces?

Insignia, Do you apply the 3850 to the channel faces wet or dry?
  19. stops printing!

I had the exact same problem using windows 7 - 64bit, a mutoh 1204, and flexi v8.1. I tried everything and was able to fix the problem upgrading the printers firmware.
  20. install price

Is it printed on 1 continuous roll or broken up into panels? Regardless 3M 180-10 has a pressure sensitive adhesive and is relatively easy/forgiving to work with. You can pretty much pull it up and reposition it depending application, just make sure the surface is thoroughly wiped down before...
