...and I'm doing wraps and auto graphics work full time now, and I love it. My 'test' was a full color change on this super tuned 600hp BMW X5M. White to black, full jambs, the works. Didn't find out til later that it's the boss' s wife's car. Will be posting a few others soon.
I use CorelDraw (latest version) and I have had similar issues. Try exporting as an older version DXF file if you can. I switched to an earlier format DXF (2006-2010 I believe) and that solved the problem for me.
Agreed on the FB550. We picked up a used one two years ago and it's been great for us. Hybrid is definitely the way to go, we have a flatbed Oce Arizona as well but it's just not as quick as the HP.
I feel your pain, and I only had to move our 318GL from one building to another on the same property. It was down for about half a day. I sweated moving it for a week beforehand though. We managed to do it on our own by widening a few doorways to our destination and made sure the electrician had...
At my old shop we printed on reflective fairly often for out of town billboard graphics. We used a Roland VP540 with Eco-Sol inks and they always turned out pretty well. We usually printed on 3M 680 reflective white.
I wrapped my 1999 Suburban hood a year ago. The paint was in bad shape, and I did have to sand it down. I shot a thin coat of primer on it before applying 3M 1080 Metallic Black on the entire hood. I've wrapped 20 or so cars/trucks and it wasn't too bad. I prefer 3M 1080 but the Arlon wrap...
At our shop we rout the shape first, then print a template on our flatbed printer table to match the shape. Then place the piece on the template and direct print on the part. Works great for us.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Well we went and bought an Adamstech/SDS bender and we absolutely LOVE it. We've been using it for about three weeks now and it is nothing short of awesome. I just wanted to check and see if anyone knows the type of oil I need to get for the hydraulic pump in the...
Same here. I print on clear acrylic pretty often on our Arizona flatbed and the only times I've had issues is when the material was warped to begin with. I've also used our HP FB500 hybrid with good results.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Turns out it was a combination of the pump and the ink bag coupler being bad. Sorry for the delay in replying....I forgot about this thread and I've been on vacation for the last 10 days or so.
