  1. Onyx Production House - getting started question

I hooked up our plotter to the computer the RIP is on and installed it all fine. I selected that I wanted to print and cut the job, just to try and figure out how this all works. The print job goes to the RIP queue, but when I open the cut server, it says there is no job there. It seems to be...
  2. CNC Router Bits Keep Breaking

As a machinist by trade (30 years in that trade), the reasoning you used carbide verses high speed steel was because one sheared the material off and the other actually ripped the material off. You could look at the actual cutting under a high power microscope (we had photos of it all), and you...
  3. Cutmaster 2

I don't know if this helps or not, but is the box checked that allows things to be installed from Anywhere in your security settings? If not, try that.
  4. HP Designjet 26500 setup questions

I'm using the on board i1 system. I don't have the stand alone model. I do have the i1 x-rite for my monitor, but no stand alone systems for measuring swatches, just the one that's on the machine.
  5. HP Designjet 26500 setup questions

Interesting 24 hours for me and the printer! After reading the responses last night, I headed straight to the printer to build the profile at 600dpi. It asked if I wanted to print the normal accuracy swatch or the higher accuracy. Who am I to skimp out on the quality? Sure, give me the 1900...
  6. HP Designjet 26500 setup questions

Thanks Bly! That's awesome! I didn't even know about that forum. I keep signing into Onyx's website and thinking "Boy, this sure lacks any useful information", only to see that forum you linked to! Man, that's great, thanks so much for sharing. It's really exciting to think about the...

Pro, is that 8 pass at 600 dpi? Or do you use less?
  8. HP Designjet 26500 setup questions

Thanks guys! That helps a lot. I'm really lucky, this machine doesn't have to make a penny for a while, so I can take the time to learn and understand it all before we start offering the service. I'm sure we'll do a few jobs here and there, but I'd like to have a much better understanding of it...
  9. HP Designjet 26500 setup questions

We have a new printer and the guy that's coming to train us won't be here for 10 more days or so, and I'm just trying to dabble in a few things. We're running Onyx Production House v11, and as complex as I thought it was going to be is proving to be true. I've never been under any illusion that...
  10. Onyx Production House - getting started question

Thanks Bly! Do you have it set to preserve embedded profiles in the color management policy part? What settings do you use there for RGB and CMYK?
  11. Onyx Production House - getting started question

I'm new to printing, but have been sending printing out for a while. Finally broke down and got a printer as well as Onyx Production House v11. I know there's a lot to learn (more than I can learn in a lifetime, probably), but I'd like some input from you guys with experience. I'm trying to do...

  13. Old School Country Music Fans - Do you remember this?

A little later than most posted here, but still early enough not to be the crap that passes for country now.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAOVRkSCWmg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvZeYDBY4fw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW61U6NktYE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcK_Blja5tw
  14. Now THAT'S how you execute a prank

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxN20wepr7w&feature=player_embedded It's a commercial for deodorant, but it's a great prank and so well executed.
  15. need help "slicing" a 3D file in Enroute

Great find Wayne! Thanks! Just to clarify, you can use the photo thingy I listed last, to make the 3D model of a person, place, or thing, and then take that model into 123D and make the shape. They have 5 or 6 programs like that, that all work to create various things.
  16. need help "slicing" a 3D file in Enroute

My pleasure Doug, glad it helped. I've certainly learned a lot from you over the years, so if I can give a fraction back, I'm happy to. That program came out and it gave control over a lot of things. Then they stopped it all together for a short time and relaunched it with the option to create...
  17. Serious Network Security Problem Out There

Forgive me if I don't get all the details right, but hopefully this will help make someone's network safe. There's a major, and I do mean major network security issue out there right now. It allows people to get into your network and get to all your files and control computers. It's not a virus...
  18. need help "slicing" a 3D file in Enroute

Y'all have seen 123Make from AutoDesk, haven't you? If not, google it. It's free. Only drawback is it handles small sheet sizes, but if you scaled everything, you might be able to do wonders by blowing it up. Here's a 3D car model and then the output from 123Make. You can control the...
  19. Really? I though only Gino got these!

WOOO HOOO!!!!!! I had a customer come in and bring something to be engraved. I never spoke to him, someone else took the order, wrote it all down. I took their notes, engraved the item, he was called and told it was ready. Had the invoice waiting for him, he walked in, handed the person cash...
