  1. Profile for Phototex, what are you using?

MCVP : Matte Calendered Vinyl profile is what we use with great results every time.
  2. Roland Printing Posters?

We got a free roll of the Roland glossy photo paper when we got our VP540. We have printed some 3' x 4' posters. They look great! The paper is not as glossy as what you would think. I would call it satin, but that was ok actually.
  3. Roland PC-60 and 600

You might find them here: http://www.rolanddg.co.jp/en/down3oad.html
  4. roland question's

I think the original 2nd question was asking about when you do a sheet cut after a print; The material is fed an inch or so forward, then the cut is made. I think he's asking if there is a way to stop the material feed before the cut is made so there's less waste. ? That's what my decoder...
  5. Photo-tex Profile for my Sp540v?

Good gosh, you are not kidding there! I cringe when I see stuff like that. Ack! We used the MCVP profile and it worked great!
  6. PC-600 Banding Question?

We never subscribed to the "clean after every print" theory on our PC-60. As a matter of fact, we never once cleaned the heads. In the ten+ years we have it, we have had to send it in for service two times -neither related to not cleaning the heads. We still use it, and still don't ever...

  9. Noob needs help with Roland PC-60

  11. Roland Pc600 for small full color decals?

Similarly, we still have our PC-60 and use it almost daily. We printed some small "Protected by BRINKS SECURITY" almost 10 years ago to stick on our windows. They still look good! Most are facing north, but even the one facing east is still holding up. We only use it to do small spot color...
  12. Educating the masses

Don't forget that you can print on canvas as well. People are amazed at how nice the canvas prints turned out that we have done. And the view-through window film too if it hasn't been mentioned already!
  13. VP 540 question

I have heard that too. I think you're right - it's just the pumps pumping some ink through. The sound reminds me of the oil change places when they're pumping new oil into your vehicle.
  14. Roland general questions???

    Sleep.
  15. Contour Cut not following where it should

The question is WHAT is it smoking? :peace!:

Yep, I agree. Versaworks isn't the only RIP to have problems with transparency. Illustrator warns you when saving with transparencies that there may be problems.

  18. VP-540 Service Mode ?

Minimum order: 10 - Get one for yourself and eBay the rest? ;-)
  19. Roland PC60 wont print pantone colors?

Ours has done stuff like that randomly over the years too: cuts go all over the place, or prints are totally whacked. Not very often though, which really makes you wonder what made it do that?
  20. Black Looks Green

I think that depends on who's doing the printing, and with what machinery they're using Border Patrol. We sub some stuff out to a printer that says: "Rich black is an ink mixture of solid black, 100% K, with additional CMY ink values. This results in a darker tone than black ink alone. If...
