Just curious, is it a Logitech mouse? if so I would uninstall Setpoint and then re-install using the latest version. If not, check your hot keys to see if you accidentally turned one on.
Why can't he Save As as a copy of the document, undo the changes to get back before the feather effect in that one then drag the current one over. That way he doesn't have the feathering but has the current revisions. Next time tell him to take history snapshots...
If you are only using the normal build for black it will turn out that way. To achieve a rich black you are going to need to bump up all of your colors more. I wouldn't get too crazy with it unless you run external heaters. We only print rich black but running at production speeds and on the...
With perf, im pretty sure 150ppi @ full scale is completely overkill so don't do them at that resolution because it will only slow you down. Even the 70/30 perfs won't show the quality loss.
I was just gonna say how is the external drive set up? Many of the WD an Maxtor drives come formatted with FAT32 partitions and require you to reformat to NTFS if thats how you want it. If you can hook them both up to your home network go to the address bar and type

When you say speckly do you mean white areas where ink didn't absorb or does it look like a contamination to the material. Post some photos you will probably get more responses. If you see white areas where the ink didn't adhere/absorb you may need to profile the printer for that media and...
If I had to say 3 it would be a 30" Apple Cinema Display (LG), Samsung SyncMaster 305T, or a LaCie Pro series monitor. They will all run you $1000 plus but the quality is awesome. The Samsung SyncMaster required a little more tweaking then the others but the bang for the buck is beyond worth it.
We have 2 Seiko 64s and a HP 9000 & 10000s. They have been work horses for us. They do need to be vented though, gets very irritating smelling the solvent. The Seiko inks are a little bit cheaper than the HP inks it seems (everywhere we have went they were) When using the OEM inks the prints are...
