make the bottom layer white depending on how much outline of silver you want, make the white that much larger. Say .25", then just make the silver a .25" outline and put on top of solid white. if that makes sense...

I set my temp in the rip and on my printer I have my printer set to read from the software for temp. You could just try turning them off for a test.

We have had this problem with Cyan but I have a HP9000. We noticed temp. has a lot to do with this issue; being too hot.
